One of our annual highlights, GP24: The Conference for General Practice, is well underway in Wellington. This year, the College and conference celebrate their 50th year and this significant anniversary is a big part of the programme and festivities. The knowledge and experiences of the past will help shape the next 50 years and beyond and we are again delighted to be delivering such a significant event for inspiring clients.

The look and feel of this year's conference is an homage to the beginning - 50 years ago and features the groovy vibe of the 70s!

Haere mai, Dagot'eh, Boozhoo, Giinagay!

Te Hui Taketake a Te Puna Tahua Toa International Summit 2024 is taking place in Rotorua this week. This special event is showcasing indigenous peoples and businesses from around the world, and how they are collectively growing the global indigenous economy. This summit has been a long time coming and we are so thrilled to see the mahi of the organising committee coming together - thank you NKMoA. It is a pleasure to witness the enthusiasm, generosity and warmth of this global whanau and their willingness to engage, connect and contribute.

Spot the dot!

When we're onsite delivering an event, our team makes it easy for attendees to find us - no matter where we are. Our white dot t-shirts are easily identifiable and worn by friendly, knowledgeable staff who are more than happy to help.

What a way to end the week!

We've just received this feedback from the recent International Association for Media and Communication Research Conference 2024, and its definitely put a smile on our faces:

"Conference Innovators way exceeded our expectations. I can’t speak highly enough of them. We ran a large and relatively complex international conference across multiple venues, with conference admin shared with the organisation’s secretariat overseas. Charlotte managed that all impeccably.

We had praise from many participants that it was the best conference they’d attended, with extremely high satisfaction ratings in our post-conference survey. That was down to the hard work, attention to detail and patience of Charlotte and the CI team. Most important of all, they understood the conference’s culture and our goals as local organisers. The IAMCR Conference concluded yesterday after five days of informative content, shared connections and experiences.

Thank you to Riverside Market - Christchurch for hosting our attendees yesterday for a market lunch experience. The venue was bustling and vibrant and the sun was shining on the final day. Thank you also to the team at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre - the primary venue and central hub for the conference. What a stunning venue for the international audience to call home for the week and an incredible asset for Ōtautahi Christchurch.

Registrations are now live for the NZ Society of Gastroenterology and NZ Gastroenterology Nurses' College Annual Scientific Meeting 2024. This year’s meeting, ‘Exploring new frontiers in gastroenterology and hepatology’, takes place in Kirikiriroa Hamilton this November, and offers a stimulating scientific programme featuring many international and local speakers with world class expertise.

The International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) Conference 2024 is well underway in Ōtautahi Christchurch. Nearly 1400 delegates from 65 countries are participating in over 320 sessions over the five days of the conference.

The city is buzzing, with the attendees moving between 28 different rooms in five venues, soaking up over 530 hours of content! A big week for the CI team and a great week for the city.

Thank you to Danny Schroder and Sarah Jane Cave from Venues Ōtautahi for taking time on Friday to visit the CI Christchurch office. Not only did they bring delicious platters to share (which were very well received!), but also provided an update and a virtual sneak peak of the progress on the new Te Kaha Stadium.

The facilities look incredible and we can't wait to see this significant venue brought to life in the not too distant future! Thank you for sharing with us.

It's easy to be less than positive over winter when the days are long, cold and dark. This month, Wellness Officer, Brian wants to shine a light on the benefit of being grateful to boost positivity.

Gratitude can help increase energy, self-esteem, empathy and happiness and reduce anxiety. From his lounger on the landing, Brian has started reflecting on the positives at the end of each working day. He always manages to sniff out the sunshine and heartily agrees with author Melody Beattie that “Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

During the weekend, Amika was fortunate to attend a special famil - The Mighty Waikato, hosted by Waikato NZ. This sneak peak of the region was packed with fabulous food, amazing accommodation and versatile venues. It included a dessert showcase at The Red Barn, music at Hamilton Gardens, exclusive lantern dinner at Claudelands Conference & Exhibition Centre, a tour and feast at Hobbiton Movie Set ™, a visit to the The University of Waikato, breathtaking black water rafting at Waitomo Caves, breakfast at SkyCity Hamilton and sumptuous accommodation at Novotel and Ibis Tainui Hamilton ALL - Accor Live Limitless.

Today is the final day for the Sport New Zealand Conference and Awards at the Aotea Centre, Auckland. Connections 2024 provides an opportunity for leaders to connect with their peers across the play, active recreation and sport sector with over 300 attendees participating in this year's event and celebration dinner. MEETINGS is a big annual event on the CI calendar and this year's national tradeshow, organised by Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA), was nothing short of excellent. Bringing together conference, meetings & events, exhibition and travel incentive colleagues to connect, discuss opportunities and share experiences is integral to our industry's continued vibrancy and success.

Gathering in Rotorua, we were expertly hosted by Rotorua NZ and enjoyed every minute - with the Matariki dinner, complete with spectacular drone show, an unforgettable highlight.

The New Zealand Catholic Education Convention is well underway in the capital today and the CI team is onsite meeting, greeting and making sure everything runs smoothly. This event brings together Catholic educators, Bishops, priests, school trustees and those associated with the national Catholic education system.

On Friday evening, the NZ Hepatology Network Meeting was held both online and at the Cordis, Auckland. Hosted by the NZ Society of Gastroenterology, this meeting brings together specialists in liver disease to further their professional education and hear from knowledgeable speakers.

It is always a treat for the CI team to see so many familiar faces. The next meeting will be held in November in Hamilton - we're looking forward to it already!

What better way to catch up with industry colleagues and hear all the latest news than over a lavish lunch!

Today some of the team joined Loryn Blaikie and Sheena Zheng at SkyCity Auckland to hear all about the progress on the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) and discuss potential future events. The NZICC is shaping up to be a spectacular venue and we can't wait to see all the hard work come to fruition and host in this stunning facility.

Suites and sweets!

June has already been a very social month for the CI Auckland team - yesterday they were invited to the Pullman Auckland to see the refurbished conference spaces and a site visit of the hotel. The afternoon concluded in the penthouse suite where they were treated to a stunning and sweet showcase from the Executive Chef.

A night at the Museum.

Last Thursday, some of the CI Auckland team attended a soirée at the Auckland Museum. Canapés on arrival from the the GREAT catering company were followed by a welcome performance from Haka The Legend before progressing to Under the Dome. A most enjoyable main course by Urban Gourmet was very well received, and last but not least, delectable desserts from collective. were the perfect final indulgence.

An amazing evening was had by all - thank you Auckland Museum for your superb hosting.
