Just up the road on Scenic Drive the beautiful surrounds of The Refreshment Room will host a wonderful series of gigs for Auckland Jazz Festival month (Oct 15-26) - dont miss Caitlin Smith (Oct 15), Trudy Lile ( Oct 18) Cat Tunks (Oct 22nd) and Maria O'Flaherty (Oct 22nd) - great to have a classy venue out west and bring the festival close to home - tickets only $10 on the door!

Hey Oratia folk - dont forget this is THE weekend to get on to the wild west coast - Piha is the place for a let your hair down night of fun on Saturday August 2nd - 7pm. The Piha Surf Club hosts The Big Winter Humdinger - with live music from top North Island covers band 'Juice on the loose' - and fabulous food from Kate Stone's Mexican inspired kitchen open for meals from 5.30pm - its the 1970's so wear your flares afros or polyester - tickets only $15! Would love to see you - why not make a wild west coast weekend of it! Families welcome and no charges for kids or teenagers :-) I hear local Robin Kewell will be making the place look groovy with his fantastic visuals.........
