Last summer, on one of those rare summer days, Elizabeth and Shayna shared their beautiful day with a handful of people. Is this one of the lovliest weddings I have been fortunate to be involved with?

And they say never work with children or animals! But difficult to squash the excitement when Uncle Darren marries his gorgeous Grace. It was a bit mad, but lots of fun and very happy. Also quite special, as I had been the celebrant for Darren's sister Kayley and husband David some years ago. Happy days.

Dodging the rain as much as we could and the rain won! No dampening of the joy and happiness for Gill and Lucas at Windross House Restaurant. Streaming to Shanghai to Gill's family, vows in English and Mandarin. Even though I couldn't understand their personal vows I could feel the emotion and see the tears. Very special.

Omicron was going ballistic and some bureaucrat had decided all people at all weddings had to wear masks. It was a very stressful week for Breanna and Matt. Fortunately common sense came to the party, whew, the masks were off! And we could all see and enjoy this beautiful couple marrying at one of my favourite venues Markovina. What a glorious day it was.

The photo does not do this unexpectedly beautiful wedding justice. We didn't meet till the day so my mental picture of Mags and Murray only came from the information about their love story they sent to me. Is there anything more dramatic than getting married on the Juliet-like balcony of a theatre, with all your favourites gathered below in the outdoor auditorium ? Check out The Pumphouse Theatre on line! My goodness, it was goose-bump inducing. It was the middle of the night for Mag's family and friends in the UK, but the live stream wasn't going to stop them enjoying the moment.

In their words.... "We don't think we could have dreamed anything better than what we experienced from the fantastic weather (who ordered that?) to your beautiful delivery and presentation of the ceremony. We can't believe we only met 30 minutes before the ceremony as you captured us so well. Everyone was so moved by your words and the whole feeling of love and happiness you helped create. The UK 'audience' shed buckets of tears and really felt a part of everything. There aren't really enough words to express our gratitude to you for making a dream 14 years in the making come true."

Ashleigh and Alex, finally. So many delays and upsets for these two, but they did get their beautiful, love filled, emotional and colourful wedding day. Tui Hills, Auckland was the lush and intimate bush setting for this lovely wedding, just perfect for Ash, Alex and their families. 2B's Photography have captured the magic of the day. So much colour....

No traffic lights or stop/go people were getting in the way of Brendal and Barry. Their happiness and joy completely upstaged the whole process, but who doesn't need a bit of crazy delight at the moment!

So you are planning your wedding. Way too many choices and decisions to make. Let's throw some traffic lights into the mix! Or some dramatics over the dilemma of vaxxed and non-vaxxed! Aaagh. It's not pretty. It will take some time for us all to get used to a different way of doing things, but you can still have your beautiful and magical day, it will just require a little more care in your planning. I am double vaxxed, am fully up-to-date with all the requirements of the various light situations and can help you navigate all this. End result? A fabulousy wonderful day for you both. Success, yes.

Let's get married in level 3! We can change our numbers but ain't going to change our day. Good on you Kelsey and Ryan! We may have been small in number, but we were big in heart. And like all weddings, big or small, this was lovely, meaningful and poignant.

Good things take time they say. With lockdown last year scarpering Jo and Kevin's April wedding day, and with lockdown rumblings this year, it was looking like the good time would never happen. But it did! What a magic, romantic and happy day this was, and a great party it was to celebrate. Weddings- they make for the best time!
