The Kai Table is back!

Moving from Motueka to Blenheim in 2022 I had amazing opportunitiess to work in some pretty cool kitchens in Blenheim.

I have now decided that I need to put my Kai Table apron back on and do what I do best. I am offering my catering services right here in Marlborough.

With the silly season now upon us its time to shine. Check out my previous posts and catering gigs and hit me up if you after amazing delicious kai. I use local ingredients and create menu's infusing our maori heritage with an international twist.

📣 Jeremy Banks appointed to the Board of the Reserve Bank of NZ 📣

Wakatū Incorporation wishes to congratulate Wakatū Incorporation Director Jeremy Banks (Ngāti Rārua, Rangitāne, Ngāti Kuia) on his recent appointment as Director on the new statutory Board of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.

As announced by Hon Grant Robertson, Jeremy has been appointed alongside Professor Rawinia Higgins (Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Ruapani ki Waikaremoana, Ngāti Kahungunu), fellow Wakatū Incorporation whānau member Hinerangi Raumati-Tu’ua (Ngāti Mutunga, Tainui), Byron Pepper, Rodger Findlay and previous Board incumbents Professor Neil Quigley and Susan Paterson.

Members of the Senior Leadership Team and Board attended Jeremy’s pōwhiri last Friday in Te Whanganui a Tara (Wellington).

Jeremy’s background and experience in both the software and Māori governance sectors will be a tremendous asset and offer unique insights to assist with the new Board’s shift to strengthen the bank’s decision making and accountability arrangements. Jeremy also currently serves as a Director on the Wakatū Incorporation Whenua Board and leads our Business Technology Steering Committee.

Did you know my first wee business was called Platters of Perth, I created grazing tables and platters for many friends, whānau and customers in Perth, Western Australia.

I needed a side hustle!! We had left the mines, I was working 12 hour shifts at Bistro Guillaume Perth at the Crown Perth and I was about to become a Mum again.

Isolation Packs!!

I was asked to cater a hui for Whakatu the other day. Unfortunately due to covid our whole set up changed and we had to get the kai out to whānau in isolation. We made up 5 packs containing kai for 4 whānau each. We sent out pulled pork, plum & honey chicken, raw fish, steamed rice, fry bread, coconut slaw, pork & kumara rolls with some Chipotle.

No matter the hui, wananga or event big or small, we got you.

There is always a way to feed good kai!!

What a massive response to The Kai Table's new menu, orders are coming in like crazy. We are not even open yet and have sold out of hāngi croquettes for tonight (I'm making more as we speak but they may not be ready).

To say I'm stoked is an understatement. If you are keen for a kai tonight please make sure you message me first otherwise we are back into it tomorrow.

Covid has been a pain in the a$$ for a while now and unfortunately there's really no escaping it at the moment. I've created a take away meal service for whānau. Nothing like a home cooked chefs meal.

You may know someone stuck in self isolation, someone that needs a little help at dinner time or you just want to help a brother or sister out.

Meals are made fresh with 24 hours notice required and can be purchased frozen. Individual portions are available, pm for pricing and meal plans.

These meals are delivered free around the Motueka area following all covid guidelines. If we get enough interest we will start a delivery service to Nelson/Richmond/Stoke for a small fee.
