The florist industry typically has a lot of waste. Floom tries it’s best to minimise this at every stage possible. We buy our flowers whenever possible from local growers eliminating the need plastic wrap and rubber bands. We order what we need so there is minimal green waste.
We wet wrap all our flowers in bamboo reusable “paper towels” which you can use as a cleaning cloth at home. The plastic bag around the wet wrap can be popped in your compost bin along with the twine wrapping your flowers. We think a good use of the white paper is letting the kids use it for drawing otherwise this, the tissue paper, our gorgeous tags and the paper bag the flower food comes in can be popped in your recycling. And last but not least our beautiful ribbon from .ribbon.man in Melbourne can be reused when you wrap presents at home 👌🏻
