Constructed in the early 1940s as a vital component of the war effort to address the linen shortage brought about by the attacks on Ireland and Holland, The Flaxmill stands as a testament to history. Among the 16 flax mills erected across the South Island during this pressing time, it served its purpose dutifully. Once the turmoil of war subsided, the need for the mill dwindled, and it stood poised for a new chapter to unfold.

Today, The Flaxmill has been meticulously transformed into a breathtaking venue, maintaining its original allure while offering an exquisite setting for various events. The venue can seat up to 100 guests, has a large commercial kitchen and provides the tables, chairs, plates, cutlery and glasses, so all you need is some food, beverages and your guests!

PLUS a Wedding Co -ordinator to help run the day & work with you on leadup to the day.

Stunning reception area with fairy lights throughout to add that romantic touch.

All reception tables, chairs , white tablecloths & white napkins.

A selection of table decor is available available for you to use.

She’s the first to arrive and one of the last to leave on your wedding day. Sheree coordinates vendors, ensures everything runs to schedule and is there to handle any issues that may arise.

Sheree is there all day to ensure the day flows perfectly. She will receive vendor deliveries and ensure everything is set up properly and according to the floorplan. She oversees the styling and makes sure everything is laid out and decorated according to your styling guide. Greeting and ushering guests, providing copies of itineraries and ensuring everyone is in the right place at the right time is also what you can expect from Perfectly Planned.
