✨ We work hard for our clients, and that means making all those little details picture perfect in the planning before the day, to the day itself - from looking after everyone, clearing bottles, rubbish, moving around furniture and even (as with Kelly and Andy's wedding) trying not to cry at their beautiful speeches and their kids running around on the dancefloor. Special memories with this one! 🤍

Did you know that securing your wedding furniture early can save you a lot of stress later on? (I mean of course you do, but sometimes it’s not that easy right) 🌸

If you’re really not sure what to book, and you need that extra help then book in a consult with us – we will guide you, and help you choose the perfect pieces aswell as figure out all the quantities you need of each and every thing. No stress!

Here's a timeline on when you should be at that booking stage –

✨ 12 - 18 months out
Key pieces like dining tables and chairs. These are high-demand items, so getting ahead ensures availability for those pieces you love

✨ 8 - 10 months out
Tableware and catering items such as your dining essentials—plates, cutlery, glassware, and linens. Not only will these items bring cohesion to your theme, but they’ll also set the tone for the meal. After all, your wedding is essentially the most important dinner party of your life, right?

✨5 – 6 months out
Focus on finer details like lounge furniture for cocktail hour, backdrops, and any decorative features that align with your vision. Statement pieces such as arches or floral installations are the perfect way to make your photos pop and leave a lasting impression on guests. Styling weddings has always been our “thing”. And we’re damn good at it – we’re usually a lot more humble about these things but when it comes to social media, it’s getting much harder for you to separate those who have the experience and credibility, to those who may not ✨📋

We’re not like anyone else – and we’ve never been quiet about it. You won’t find anyone else in New Zealand who can offer what we do. We take care of all of your styling – with every single detail designed and put together by our in-house team. We don’t outsource - we are a bunch of creative stylists, floral designers, and graphic designers who also have one of the most comprehensive hire offerings to boot 👏🏼

Are you making these mistakes?

✨ Making plans before setting a budget:
We often think about the venue, photographer, videographer and caterer. But small details like lighting, transport, invitations and envelopes, wedding website, alterations all add up quickly. 

✨Overlooking the guest list:
Make your list and check it twice! You don’t want to miss anyone important, but you do need to be realistic as to what you can afford.

Our two rules? 
• Would you invite them over for dinner?
• How do you feel about working X amount of hours in order to pay for them to attend?

✨Not setting expectations with bridesmaids:
This is a HUGE topic in the lead-up, so many brides being upset that their bridesmaids aren’t stepping up or being as excited as they expected. Have a chat and set your expectations! 

✨Oversharing with family + friends:
We know you’re excited and it’s hard to keep things close to your chest – but be selective. Not only do you give away some of the guest experience and surprise, but you’re also opening yourself up for opinions and unsolicited advice.

✨DIY is cheaper:
We often see couples over-extending themselves with endless DIY projects, or buying things thinking they’ve nabbed a bargain without a clear vision of what they actually want. So many clients believe it will cost them less money to DIY aspects of their day, but often it costs the same (if not more) than to reach out to a pro.

✨Micromanaging vendors:
You’re investing a lot into your day so we understand you want to tick things off and control all aspects. Let your vendors do their jobs, this is their area of expertise- you’ll have the best outcome if you allow them to do what they do best. 

✨Not having a runsheet:
It’s important to have a timeline in place to allocate all the setup and festivities. Share this with your vendors so everyone is on the same page. Not everything will go to plan, but at least there is a plan in place!

✨Unrealistic expectations:
We get it, you want your day to be perfect. But set a realistic mindset, roll with it and laugh about the whoopsies- they make great stories!

You’re planning a 🍸 cocktail-style reception?

There’s one BIG misconception when it comes to your wedding planning and one we hear all the time....

👉 “We don’t have to seat everyone.”

So yes, while this is correct, you do need to seat the majority of your guests. The golden rule is 70-80% of your guests, with 70% at the very least.

Considering your guests are likely to be with you for a whopping 7-8 hours ⏰, if you’re only willing to have seats for 50%, that means a lot of guests will never be able to sit down at all. Cue aching legs 🦵, sore backs 😣, and a sparse dancefloor 🎶. It definitely changes the vibe, and guest comfort should be high on your priority list! 🎯

We once styled a wedding where the couple insisted on seating fewer than the 70% minimum. We sat a little over 50% of guests, and about 20% left after the main formalities (just before or after the band started 🎤).

It’s a long time to expect people to stand without finding a perch 🪑.
