Big ones come out at night.

This fish smashed my fly and put up a solid scrap on my TD Black reel and Gekka rod. Was awesome fun.

This well conditioned 17lbr came to the net on a day where the wind was gusting well above 100km/h. I had 20m of calm air behind a large tree to get my drift right. Half way through I felt a distinctive lack of tension on my line which only means one thing.

The fish was swimming towards me. A quick wind in and am exaggerated strike pulled in the slack and the reel was screaming.

Was a fun fight and this beautiful fish swam away hard.

Here's a throwback to my PB brown. Tipping the scales over the magical 30lb mark. Was pretty special to share this hookup and catch with my mum.

Some of these fish get so big their hearts can't keep up and unfortunately this trout had a heart attack on the way in and was DOA.
