Mid week top of the flower stand at Dandelion and Clover .
The season roles on and so do the flower choices. First pick of delphiniums since spring and the purple really works with the yellow of the sun flowers.
A classic white and green bouquet with stunning hydrangeas and the first giant asters of the season.
Roses, not something I normally share but they just inspired me.
And a wonderful bunch of zinnias and because at heart I am the naked florist I didn’t wrap them. They really don’t need it to look amazing in a vase!
So enjoy the music tomorrow at the cafe and get your flower fix at the same time.

Very very humbling to get this feedback posted on the community page.
This was a big step up for me, cascading bouquets are definitely harder. But luckily I had a few months of notice so loads of practice ones under my belt.
I love learning new skills, but will admit anxiety way high when delivering It!

As I was working away in my floristry studio this morning I was listening to an interview on RNZ on the scary role micro plastics are having on human health. It once again reinforced why I present my bouquets the way I do, completely plastic free.
Also why it’s important if you are bring beauty into your house to know the grower, whether it’s food or flowers. So you can know how the food and flowers are grown. My flowers are grown to organic standards.
So Sunday delivery is in place at Dandelion and Clover
And of course you are welcome to contact me directly if you desire. I loving wandering my flower fields picking flowers with others.
All the bouquets on the stand are from me. The foliage from another local grower.

But remember my points of differences are I grow my own flowers to organic standards. No single use plastics used .

One of my favourite styles to create is beautiful big arrangements that add drama and impact to where they grace.
This one has been ordered for a business who would like fresh flowers to greet their customers on a weekly basis.
So each week I will pop down with a new design reflecting what is growing in the season. Maybe all the rain made me think about autumn just a wee bit soon? Or maybe it was seeing pheasant feathers and just needing to use them.
But I do reckon it will have the impact they are looking for.

Bunches for Good is a wee side to my flower growing. I always Grow excess to gift. As I did with the vegetables for the last eight years I now am doing with the flowers.
I approached some local charities and ministers who visit those who might have hit a little rough patch in life. As needed I do up Bunches for Good for them to hand out.

I picked the last rose Lilly this morning. They have definitely been a joy to grow and will ensure that more are planted this year.
This growing season has all been about seeing what grows best in my climate, not that this year feels at all typical of summer!
About seeing what flowers inspire my creative streak, and I am finding all flowers do that, some are just easier for this learner florist to use!

The most beautiful lilly I have even grown. I always get nervous when I see something so magnificent in my garden, do I have the skills to enhance it if I pick it? And on this occasion i definitely feel i have.

I am just loving the Floret Farm zinnas that are flowering prolifically at the moment and will do as long as I keep picking them right through to the first frost. May that be months away!

One of the first lessons I learnt as an organic farmer is they must take the best of the veggies and fruit for themselves. For growing is hard and if the farmer isn’t nourished then they won’t have the energy to provide for other. So I have unashamedly always taken the best I have grown for Mike and I.
Well the same is true with flowers. If I can’t get to enjoy the best blooms what will inspire me to grow more? To grow better?
I will fall asleep to the subtle smell of these beautiful Lillie’s dreaming of what else I can grow to bring more beauty into this world.

Thought it was a perfect day to take you on a tour of the garden. Garden has grown so big I need to do a few videos or else I can’t upload them, or is that just poor broadband? So enjoy.

Time to introduce the gardening crew. New to this years crew is Trixie. She loves her greens, can be seen here munching on some cabbage. Always amazed that loads of people don’t realise dogs thrive on adding veggies to their diet. She has some knowledge to gain. The other day I was wondering what has decimated a broccoli head, she helped out with identification of pest by starting to eat the other half!
