Um ... could be a Snares Island, Fiordland Crested or Erect- crested penguin 🤔🤷🤦..

The Fiordland crested penguin or tawaki, is one of the rarest of New Zealand's mainland penguins. New Zealand status: Endemic Conservation status: Declining

The Snares penguin (Eudyptes robustus; Māori: Pokotiwha), also known as the Snares crested penguin and the Snares Islands penguin, is a penguin from New Zealand. The species breeds on the Snares Islands, a group of islands off the southern coast of the South Island.
OR
The erect-crested penguin is a penguin endemic to the New Zealand region and only breeds on the Bounty and Antipodes Islands. It has black upper parts, white underparts and a yellow eye stripe and crest. It spends the winter at sea and little is known about its biology and breeding habits. o

38th Herb & Paro - Frank / Civil Memorial Surfing Competitions!
You know the drill, team:
The day kicks off with the H&P Open Division, featuring a repercharge comp ("The Frank") for anyone knocked out of the H&P. This ensures everyone gets at least two surfs on the day.
The prestigious Jamie Civil Trophy will be awarded to the most committed manoeuvre of the day, as judged by Tash across both the H&P and Frank comps.
Entry is just $10, which covers lunch and a drink. Stick around for the prize-giving at the SCBRA clubrooms, followed by a night of live music from Shakes and the Trouble Makers as we honor past mates and celebrate the day.
Entries are limited so we can pack all the action into one epic day in the best waves Dunedin/Otago has to offer. Sign up with $10 cash on Friday, the 21st, at SCBRA between 5 pm and 6 pm.

A few snaps of my favourite wee NZ bird the Silver eye or wax eye / tauhou photographed in St Clair.
In New Zealand, the silvereye was first recorded in 1832. It arrived in greater numbers in 1856, and it is assumed that a migrating flock was swept eastwards by a storm. As an apparently self-introduced bird it is protected as a native New Zealand species. Its Māori name, tauhou, means "stranger" or more literally, "new arrival".

Ive had 3 kererū, New Zealand wood pigeons feasting on my plums over the last week.
Fyi after eating, kererū often sun themselves while digesting their food. This behaviour can lead to the fruit fermenting in the bird's crop, particularly during warm summer weather, producing alcohol that causes the bird to become intoxicated.
