❤️ I wish to thank each and every one of you who have placed an order, I truly appreciate it. I hope you enjoy the sweet treats and I look forward to spoiling you all again next year! 🎉

We have a few more orders to get through to end the year off with; lots more baking and decorating, so I thank you again for keeping me busy! From cupcakes, cakes, brownies, cookies and dessert boxes; it has been a very productive couple of weeks and because I'm a workhorse, I revel in it!🥰 Special mention and gratitude to my husband and our 5 kids who have been such an amazing support system. They really are the back bone of SR... Taste testers, constructive criticism, gazebo helpers, coffee providers and pure honest entertainment with their 20million questions right at bed time.😆❤️

✨ Kion, Fuli, and the gang are all here! The Lion Guard Cake is a show stopper... Don't you think? ☺️

Cake details: 2 tiered (4inch top, 6inch bottom) chocolate cake with Nutella filling, and decorated to the theme of the recipient's favourite movie/programme. The characters are all edible including the stones and leaves, including the number 5 cake topper 🙂

The client/Mum, sent an inspiration photo for me to draw ideas from. I managed to put my own creative touch to it by adding the sand (cookie crumb) on the bottom, and the grass fondant detail at the back of the cake, along with an number 5 so everyone, especially the ones behind the cake, can have something to look at.

✨ Barbie, pink and fun! Definitely one cake that I loved decorating because it brought out my inner-girly side.☺️

🎂 Cake details: 6-inch Chocolate Cake filled with Nutella goodness. The client wanted a Barbie themed cake so we went all out with this one.
Macarons, mini-choccys, love hearts & sprinkles. Cake topper made from card and sprinkled with edible pink dust for that magic touch.

🎂🍪 I've got lots of baked goodies lined up including our triple choc brownies, paifala, chunky choc-chip cookies and a market special that you don't want to miss!.. Our delicious dessert pots! These were sold out the last time I had them for sale, so make sure you come early as these won't last! 🤤

🍽️ Or why not try our chop suey, coconut curry or raw fish?! These are served in takeaway containers so you can enjoy them then and there or in the comfort of your home, for lunch or dinner.

A special way to thank your guests at any event is to spoil them with customised cookies!

🍪Cookie details: 120 Vanilla sugar cookies, covered with dusty pink fondant discs, stamped with a custom made design and cutter, and edible images. The message on the cookie is sentimental and special from the recipient to her guests. The plumeria is the recipient's favourite flower. This was such a lovely way to thank those who attended her birthday celebrations.🎉

✨ Pink, bold and beautiful!

After much research and development, I have decided that if I wanted to be more visible to my customers and potential clients, I have to provide an eye-catching and thought provoking representation that speaks to my audience, who are able to see what I offer as a business.

That's the brief I gave myself when designing my new logo including the search for a distinctive font. I needed to make sure that going forward, I was able to stay relevant and relatable, especially in today's current market. It also helps that I have supportive family members, to give insightful tips, advice and constructive criticism.🥰

The hiapo plate design is an evolving concept and one day I will be able to come up with my own design. But for now, I will settle for an image that incorporates the essence of my Niue Island heritage. There are a few elements in this particular hiapo that I am drawn to and resonate with. Luckily there are a handful of Niue artists willing to share their art and I am always thankful for their craft. Fakaaue lahi

🎉 Welcome to November! A new month also brings new opportunities and growth. Therefore, I would like to announce that Sweet Revelations is now offering Catering as well as all our Baked goods and sweet treats.🥳

🥳I also updated our logo and brand to give it a fresh and vibrant look! Hope you like it. 💖 The rolling pin, fork and knife icons represents the cooking and baking side of the business. The hiapo plate is a direct reference to my Niuean heritage. The hiapo design by a talented artist known as polyxtoonz and I am grateful he is able to provide his artwork for sale. You can check out more of his work at his online Etsy shop.😎

✨ Another Spiderman creation!🕷️

Cake details: 14 inch #3 banana cake with Oreo cookie crumb filling and Vanilla frosting. Edible images, jellybeans and melted marshmallows to create that spiderweb effect.🕸️

🥰I am loving making these themed cakes for our tamaliki. This one went to a lovely return customer and had trusted me to make another cake for her son a few weeks ago.

✨ Our twin boys turned the big 13 years old while on break from school. Their request for a birthday cake was very particular and had to include two of their favourite Roblox & One-Piece icons.

🎂Cake details: An 8-inch Red Velvet cake, whipped cream cheese filling, vanilla exterior frosting depicting the sea waves, their request from the manga series, One-Piece. If you are a fan of the games, then you would know these fondant toppers are the Magu-Magu from One-Piece and the Dough fruit from Roblox.

🫣Don't get me wrong, I have no idea what they do or what they represent, but it's ok, because it's something my children are interested in, and it's something they enjoy.

❤️But, as they get older, I am finding it hard to stay in-tune with what they are interested in and their hobbies. It wasn't long ago they loved singing and dancing along to Trolls or running up and down the hallway in their nappies. If they had the chance, I'm sure they would try and do that now! 😁 At least I know they still love our tradition of a birthday pancake breakfast!

🥳This post is dedicated to our sons, Niu & Vili. Happy 13th Birthday boys! We love you! Thank you to their friends and family for the birthday messages and for those who attended their celebration.💕

✨ "Do you still make your delicious Chocolate Brownies?" The answer will always be, YES!

My triple chocolate brownies have been my number one seller and it is proved by the number of orders it has yielded since I have started selling them. And even before then, these were my number one go-to sweet treat to gift, take to a potluck or to make anyone feel special, including myself! They are my pride and joy and I stand behind them; each and every moreish crumb.🤤

I had an order for gluten free brownies, using the delicious Whittaker's Hazella Chocolate (yes, nothing but the best!) and I jumped at the opportunity to also make some brownies for my family, because they also deserve the treats, after a 2week long 'holiday' from school.

My triple chocolate brownies can be ordered by slice, minimum of 3, or you can take a whole slab and enjoy it with your workmates, flatties or just keep it on hand for those sweet cravings. I ain't gonna lie, these are packed with a load of sweetness that will definitely keep those cravings satisfied.

✨ Soccer or Football? ⚽ Are you a fan or more of a side-line ref?🫣

Cake details: An 8-inch Lemon Cake, whipped cream cheese filling with Passionfruit Buttercream, a fondant cake topper in the shape of a soccer ball, and green sprinkles imitating lush green grass.

I really enjoy making themed cakes especially when it allows for creativity and inspiration. This fondant soccer ball was really fun to make. I made a smaller version and well, it being the school holidays at the time, it landed somewhere on their fuse-ball table.😁

✨ Talofa! 🇹🇻 Tuvalu Language week was celebrated in NZ from the 1st til 7th of October 2023, and I was honoured to provide a showpiece cake for the Tuvaluan Community, here in Ōtepoti.

Cake details: 2 tiered, 6 & 8 inch cake, Lemon & Raspberry cake top tier, Chocolate cake bottom tier, fondant exterior with buttercream detailing, island theme stencil, Tuvalu flag as the cake topper.

🇹🇻 The Tuvalu Community gathered together a couple weekends ago, to celebrate its 45 years of independence with an event at Camp Tirohanga, Dunedin. Members from the Tuvalu communities in Ōtautahi & Tāmaki Makaurau were in attendance also. The day was extra special with 'His excellency Feue Tipu and the Tuvalu High Commissioner for NZ', joining in with the festivities.

Cake details: an 8-inch Banana celebration cake, chocolate ganache filling, vanilla exterior frosting, macarons, faux flowers and hand-made cardstock palm leaves. A special message on the cake board is made from fondant. Sapphire was the colour palette with silver and white as complimentary colours.

Te Waipounamu Māori Rugby Rakatahi Tournament 2023 is coming to Ōtepoti this weekend. Otago Māori Rugby are hosting and 'it will be the first time this kaupapa will be held in Ōtepoti, with over 18 teams participating across U17 & U15 Kōhine and Taiohi grades, the day is sure to impress'.

Sweet Revelations will be there selling all your favourite sweet treats and hot food, from 10am -3pm or til sold out. Sapasui and curry are on the menu, along with some special customised cookies to commemorate this event.

📍121 Victoria Road, Moana Rua Road, St Kilda, Dunedin. Dunedin Rugby Club. We will be in the carpark next to a few other local community groups, also selling hot food & beverages.🥰

✨ A Chocolate and Vanilla Celebration Cake for a deserving birthday boy.

Cake details: 10inch number 3 cake, chocolate bottom layer, vanilla American buttercream (VBC) filling, vanilla top layer, more delicious VBC and decorated in superhero theme: Spiderman and The Hulk. I included a custom birthday message made of fondant and jellybeans to finish it off.

✨ A vibrant cake representing a school that travelled all the way from Tauranga, to attend the Ngā Manu Kōrero Nationals 2023, held here in Dunedin.

Cake details: An 8inch chocolate cake, with chocolate ganache filling, vanilla American buttercream exterior, turquoise, red and white colour palette with the school emblem as an edible image.

🥰 The client was a beautiful Mum who organised a cake all the way from Tauranga, for her son and class, who participated in the Manu Kōrero Nationals held in Ōtepoti a couple weeks ago. She was able to explain in detail, how she wanted the cake to look and I was able to execute the colours and vision with inspo. She also sent a photo of the actual school uniform, to help with the colour palette. This is client goals!

❗I did make a mistake, and although the cake was near perfect, can you spot the boo-boo? Apologies to my client for this.❤️ My design work in the Cricut app, didn't allow me to use a macron, so I had to manually design the macron, and in the busy-ness of it all, I put it in the wrong place. I was thinking of leaving it out but a mistake was made and here I am acknowledging and learning from it. In the future, I'll be sure to check and recheck again and ultimately not to rush the process.😮‍💨

🥰 Thank you so much for your support and orders. This past week has been busy with school holidays and custom cake orders. It has been an incredible journey and the chance to be able to create and showcase my skills and experience I've learnt so far, has been challenging, humbling and enriching. Each cake has it's own unique story behind it and I look forward to sharing more of them with you all.

This month is also a great time to celebrate the many different Pacific island nations we have in our communities, through language and culture. This week is Tuvalu language week and next week it's Fiji. Then it's Niue Islands turn, (the best, in my own bias opinion) and then rounding off the month is Tokelau!

📍This weekend we will be at the Otago Māori Rugby Tournament, Saturday from 9am. We will have all your favourite baked goodies plus our hot food range!

✨ I love a half'n'half cake! And this is the perfect example.😍

🎉 Celebrating her 50th birthday, this special person was such a delight to work with. I had no trouble in making sure that each component of her requests were met.☺️

Cake details: 16inch number 50 cake. The number 5 was a chocolate and salted caramel cake, with a chocolate drip and salted caramel popcorn on top. The number 0 was a lemon and coconut cake, with a white chocolate drip and coconut flakes adoring the top. Yum!

I added a few fondant details depicting the customer's love of tramping. The icons are in reference to the tents and huts seen on the typography maps, used when tramping.🏔️

As mentioned before, I love the option of having more than one cake flavour and this special celebration cake is the perfect example. I personally love the lemon and coconut combo with the white chocolate drip! Dream cake! 🥰

✨ A beautiful cake to celebrate a Dad's 70th birthday and how special it was, as this event was held just before Father's Day!

Cake details: 14 inch number 70 Vanilla cake, with Vanilla filling, frosting, delicious assorted choccys and hand-painted macarons, silver, to represent the theme.

✨ Otago Polyfest 2023 Celebrates 30 years and what a wonderful way to celebrate! 🎊

Thank you Otago Polyfest Pip Laufiso and your amazing team, for the opportunity to be part of this Polyfest. The Village concept was a great starting point and I am excited to see how this pans out for future festivals. Special thanks to Fi and your kaimahi for ensuring we were well looked after.🥰

Reflecting on the days we were there, I can honestly say it was enchanting to see the smiles on people's faces as they talk about how proud they are of the festival and how much it has grown; in particular how excited they were to see their children, mokopuna, cousins or just to embrace the Pacific island spirit.

Thank you to everyone who came by the stall on Wednesday and Thursday. I appreciate the support and loved seeing familiar and new faces. Massive Fakaaue to Fane Tauevihi for coming down to hang and help out when I needed it.😍 Hey . Thanks for showing kindness to our children. We will keep you beautiful artwork as a keepsake momento. As always, thank you Kalani J Malaesilia for everything and supporting me. I love you. Special shout out to our children Niu, Vili, Lagi, Iese and Tiale.💕

⚜️I was part of the Cook Island dance group way back in the 90s for Dunedin North Intermediate, under the tutelage of the Henry family, with Carol Clarkson as the Cultural teacher back then. This Polyfest brought back the vibes, hype and memories from then, which are still very much prevalent today; hours of hard work and dedication we all had to endure, to perform at our best and showcase our tiny nations through song and dance. ✨ NEW, NEW, NEW! 📢 🎉 Welcome to November! A new month also brings new opportunities and growth. Therefore, I would like to announce that Sweet Revelations is now offering Catering as well as all our Baked goods and sweet treats.🥳 🥳I also updated our logo and brand to give it a fresh and vibrant look! Hope you like it. 💖 The rolling pin, fork and knife icons represents the cooking and baking side of the business. The hiapo plate is a direct reference to my Niuean heritage. The hiapo design by a talented artist known as polyxtoonz and I am grateful he is able to provide his artwork for sale. You can check out more of his work at his online Etsy shop.😎 🍽️I have also put together our Catering menu which will be available to view soon. As usual, for all bookings and enquiries, please DM or email [email protected].
