This one is extra special and our final award image to show 🫶
This multi tells the story of the funeral of one of our towns most iconic people, Senior Constable Jos Sturkenboom, loved and respected by the whole town, he probably taught most of our towns youth how to safely ride a bike over the years! He was adored a whole lot more by his lovely wife Jo and their two boys.
Photographing funerals isn’t something we do a lot of, and if I’m honest it’s a strange feeling photographing when people are at their most vulnerable, but honoured to at the same time. The best reward is just being able to give these memories (as hard as they are) to the families, but Lydia also gained a Silver in documentary.

There’s nothing quite like witnessing the power and strength of a woman birthing their babe, like every baby, and every Mumma, their body handles the process all slightly differently, but it’s absolute magic one that babe has arrived. Silver award for Lydia in Documentary catergory, thanks to the beautiful wahine for having me there by your side 🫶
