Kia Ora,
My name is Maera Lewell,
I am 31 years old currently residing in Hamilton, New Zealand. I was raised in a modernised Māori family where tikanga, māori philosophy, was blended with 21st century teachings, and, until the birth of my first child in March 2021, have enjoyed a decade long career in Sales within the Electronic and Electrical Industry. Amongst the many administrative, leadership, and dynamic skill sets required to find success in this career, a particular interest in influential speaking and event management has evolved over the years. Having these skills at hand when planning my own wedding (held in Jan 2020) made our day a humble success, and more importantly allowed all present a moment in time to revisit the love that exists within and connects all people - irrespective of marital status, race, or creed. Marriage is, to me, a tapu, sacred promise, made between two people in the presence of trusted companions; a foundation upon which a wharenui, home, can be built up and sheltered within. A Wedding, to me, is an occasion at which to celebrate the solemnisation of this promise and foundation. The legal responsibilities entrusted upon Marriage and Civil Union Celebrants in New Zealand are great, if you are getting married it is important you choose a Celebrant who recognises these responsibilities and is considerate to your wishes and your needs. Everyone has a different dream for their Wedding Day, he iti he pounamu, perhaps small, eternally treasured. No reira e hoa nau mai,
