After 13.5 beautiful years as the Artiflax 2IC, this morning, our whanau had to say goodbye to our beautiful ball of fluff, Kricket.

As you can imagine, there were lots of tears here today, and unfortunately, no work. I'm super sorry about that, I will answer all emails tomorrow and resume packing orders in the afternoon. But right now, I just need a little time to grieve the loss of my little baby.

Kia ora e te whanau and a Happy New Year to all!

I know we are at the end of the first month of 2025 already but next week will be my official week back at work after crushing and breaking my thumb 8 weeks ago. (pic in the comments) As you can imagine, it was nearly impossible for me to put bouquets together and I certainly couldn't weave any flowers during this time :(

I still have some pain in the left side of my thumb at the joint and can't yet put too much pressure on it so I'll only be at 50% working capacity for the next 2 weeks...I have, and still am working my way through emails, messages etc. and doing some behind the scenes stuff on the website.

The photo attached is of a bouquet I put together this week with the help of my daughter, this one took me 3 times longer to make because my thumb isn't up to scratch yet but I got there!

At the moment I am not taking on any custom orders due to being unable to weave, but I do still have ready made flowers in stock that I will be slowly putting together and loading up on the website over the coming weeks.

I thank you to all of you lovelies who have been super patient while I've been injured and I am looking forward to being back at 100% really soon!

I've spent some time this week slowly uploading new products to the website, but a chunk of them have already sold before I could tell you guys, so sorry!

There's new stuff on the website, stuff on sale and more stuff being added as we speak, unfortunately things are getting snapped up pretty quick but I will do my best to keep creating (with my broken thumb) and getting pretties uploaded as fast as I can!

My apprentice in training 🥰 she's done a pretty good job for her first day.

I am training her to do some of the Artiflax staples but will also allow her some creative license so that she brings a new style to the Artiflax whanau.

A few of her creations will be at the Esplanade Pop Up Market THIS Saturday!
