Our Lime & Soda team loved running an event in our own backyard at GLOBOX Arena & Events Centre, Claudelands last Thursday. Thanks to Lisa and the team at Sport Waikato for trusting us with your event - Let's Move Waikato 2023! It was great evening dedicated to celebrating play, active recreation, and sport in our Waikato region.

Emily spent her internship with us and we are excited to announce that she will be staying on board as an Event Coordinator to help us with the Christmas workload and summer rush! 🎉 Emily will continue to assist the L&S team in upcoming events of all shapes and sizes. Emily's internship was all about gaining experience and we are all very happy she can continue that as part of our team.

Trees at The Meteor is BACK and we’re excited to announce we are working alongside the team to bring this spectacular event back to life for 2022!🎄🎨

This well-loved community arts-focused event draws entries widely from across the city and attracts 5000 annual visitors to participate, review the works and vote for the best trees created by the people of Kirikiriroa.

A great start to the Business Events Industry Aotearoa Annual AGM & Conference in Hawkes Bay at the Napier War Memorial Centre.

Our GM Events, Lee Picken, is attending the event and looking forward to joining a speaker panel for one of the sessions.

Events are beginning to look different, pamphlets and posters are being replaced with digital signage and apps, and creative sound and lighting effects are also replacing decorations that would once have ended up in a landfill.

Sustainable events are becoming standard practice. From ‘green’ refreshments to composting leftovers, establishing green “cred” is increasingly important for New Zealand’s venues. “Lots of small changes can make a big change, and we all have a responsibility to do our part.” Says Te Pae’s Chief Executive, Blair Glubb.

Lime & Soda are delighted to announce the appointment of Lee Picken as General Manager - Events.
Lee joins us from her Major Events Manager role at NZ National Fieldays Society where she managed nine annual Fieldays events.
In her 20+ years in the events industry, Lee has also worked as Business Development Manager at ATEED, Bureau Manager at Destination Queenstown, Project Director at PCO ForumPoint2, and Incentive Manager at Spark New Zealand (Telecom).
Lee will be joining other Lime & Soda team members at Business Events Industry Aotearoa’s tradeshow MEETINGS in Ōtautahi Christchurch, 15-16 June 2022.

Yesterday, one of our Lime & Soda MICE Specialists attended the ‘Three of a KIND’ Express Famil hosted by the inspirational team at H3. The enthusiastic feedback received was that the day was a true treat to be able to re-connect with our industry peers (H3, Montana and Vidcom); and to revisit all of the H3 venues.

Great news today from the Government regarding events!

From 11:59 pm on Friday, there will be no limits on outdoor events and indoor capacity will increase to 200. And as of 11:59 pm on Monday 4 April, vaccine certificates will be at the discretion of the venue but are no longer government-mandated.

This is great for those who have been waiting to have an event but have been limited to what they could do due to previous restrictions. We hope this will give companies and associations the confidence to consider events later in the year, and we are looking forward to planning more large events again soon!

Yesterday, Tess spent the afternoon at Seddon Park watching the premier match of the ICC Woman's Cricket World Cup!

Thank you to Hobbiton Movie Set Tour, H3, Waikato NZ and Novotel Hamilton Tainui for hosting everyone. It was a fabulous afternoon connecting and catching up with businesses from the Waikato while watching a great match.

Congrats to the South African team for taking the win after a nail-biting finish!

The Lime & Soda tour is continuing on this week!

At Alert Level Red we can still come and do site visits, with masks and social distancing, to check out the amazing venues around the country to be ready for when events can start running again.

This week some of the team went out to one of our local venues here in the Waikato, Mystery Creek. This is a great venue with so many possibilities from indoor or outdoor events as well as the historic village on-site as well. The team also managed to check out the National Fieldays offices!

Lime & Soda were delighted to work with Heartland Bank to help set up and manage the Chill Out Zone on Saturday at the Hot Spring Spas T20 Black Clash Cricket Match at the Bay Oval Cricket Ground.

Our onsite team had a great day working with the Heartland crew, giving away goodies, watching a great cricket match and even a few rounds of co****le with a few Policemen who stopped by.

Congrats to Team Rugby for walking away with the win!
