We had a fantastic tuber sale this past weekend with the excitement for the upcoming season matching the concern of our members as to where we're all going to find enough space to plant all the extra beauties we walked away with😅
We still have extra exhibition quality tubers needing a home so for the next two weeks we will be selling bundles of 5 tubers (mixed variety) for $10.

Saturday 19th October 9am-12pm at 13 Alamein Crescent, Onekawa
$5 per tuber, buy 4 get 1 free
This is a members only event but you are welcome to register with us on the day for $15 (annual fee).

Aaaaaaaand we're back on track, keep pampering those Dahlias because we have a new venue!
Just a wee bit up the road, our show will be at Tamatea HIGH school hall, Freyberg Ave🥳🌸😍
Saturday 17th of February,11am to 3pm
$2 entry, $2 raffle tickets, cash only

Exhibitors: if you're new to the game there will be experienced helpers available from 8am to guide you with staging for the Novice section, so if you don't know what you're doing but you love your Dahlias bring them along and we'll show you the ropes 🌸❤️🌸

We have just found out that our venue is no longer available due to some construction being done so we are in the process of looking for an alternative space for the Hawke's Bay Dahlia Show on the 17th of February. Keep an eye on our social media pages for more updates and information over the next few days and hopefully the show can still go on😉🌸

The Dahlia season is upon us! This year due to low tuber supplies we are having a members only tuber sale and ask that members kindly bring along any extra tubers (named or unnamed) that they would like to donate to the Hawke's Bay Dahlia Circle.
When: Sunday 15th October
10:00am: morning tea followed by a demonstration of staging blooms and the tuber sale
Where: 13 Alamien Crescent, Onekawa
Cost: $5 named tubers, $2 unnamed tubers, cash only.
***If you are not a member, membership registration forms will be available on the day***

IMPORTANT show information:
Tamatea intermediate school hall will be open today, Friday 3rd Feb from 5-7pm and tomorrow morning, Saturday 4th Feb from 5am for exhibitors to stage their flowers. Show vases will be available, please bring newspaper to wet and use to stabilize the stem in the vase. Help will be available for first time exhibitors learning the ropes! We're looking forward to seeing you and especially your blooms tomorrow🌸🌸🌸

Save The Date! Sunday 30th October at 2pm the Hawke's Bay Dahlia Circle is hosting a Meet and Greet for members with an information session on dividing tubers and staging blooms. This is great info to set you up for a wonderful growing and showing season and a chance to catch up in person with other Dahlia fanatics!
This is an RSVP event so please contact Alan, our secretary, on [email protected] to secure your spot. New members are also welcome to sign up with Alan prior to secure your spot at the Meet and Greet. Further details regarding the address for the event will provided closer to the time. We look forward to seeing you there!

We have an expanded novice section in our annual show (early February) and we would love to welcome some new exhibitors!

Several weeks ago we had our AGM where we said farewell to our past president, John McCutcheon and welcomed our new president, Lynda Stephenson. John and his wife Joyce have traveled across New Zealand with their prize winning blooms and they will be missed as they embark on their next adventure! Lynda has dedicated a large portion of her life to plants, their identification and growing and everything in between, how lucky are we!
