Appreciation Monday just keeps on being thankful … next up is this awesome human ! Kim is so incredibly talented and always nails the brief no matter what it is … as seen in these two shots from events on Saturday and Sunday … two totally different vibes nailed to perfection . She is also amazing to work with , an incredible mum to her children and a wonderful friend to many including lucky old me ! Next up on appreciation Monday are these two absolute gems ! and who were responsible for the painted surfboards, this photo board and the hanging of all the beach balls ( all 250 of them ) which kept running away down the beach when we opened the van doors ! These two are an absolute joy to have around , they are clever , funny, determined , kind , strong , independent young women and I often think that if their generation are all like them then we are indeed in good hands going forward . Thank you for all that you do and all that you are ###

Today is about appreciation and first up is a giant thank you to . Hillary always has my back and when I come up with hare brained schemes she mainly enables me ( except for when they are dangerous) ! For the grand long lunch this year Hillary whipped out the bernina and made 250 gorgeous napkins and yes each had a ric rac edging sewn on so twice the work ! Each one was absolutely perfection and joy inducing, so much so that 32 seem to have gone home with guests ( we would love them back just saying ) . Anyway , thank you so much Hillary , you are an absolute star and an amazing human as well ! Also a big shout out to Mr Riches for living with the bernina out on the dining table for so long ###

Happy new year lovely people ! As we head into a new year knowing that so many romantics became engaged over the holiday break I thought it would be timely to have a wee chat about budgets ( icky word) !
I always tell my clients to choose the three things that matter most to them and just go for gold but be prepared to compromise on other items ! My three things would be flowers , food and champagne and photography… that’s 3 right ? 😉 Everyone’s 3 is different and it should be !
Some things are a complete waste of money in my books too .. I.e wedding favors . They usually end up being binned in the clean up and the money is much better utilized as one of your 3 ! My other pet hate is bar leaners … you are not in the public bar at the local, you are creating a classy day to celebrate your love and again add the $$$ to your top 3 ! Don’t be coerced into “packages “ if it isn’t what you want …. Say no and look elsewhere … again keep your eye on your top 3 !
Start by determining who will contribute , number of guests and total budget before you go shopping and categorize your budget by percentage … here is a rough guide
Venue , catering , alcohol , rental items 40%
Photography 12%
Entertainment 10%
Flowers 12%
Dress and beauty services 9%
Celebrant 3%
Stationery 3%
Transportation 2%
Cake 2%
Wedding rings 2%

Merry Christmas from my home to yours . Thank you to the many fabulous people who have supported Miss Frou Frou in 2023 . I always feel so incredibly privileged to be styling your most precious moments and never take it for granted . I have some exciting new ideas for 2024 but for now … this is my Christmas Tablescape for tomorrow… my son is going to roll his eyes more then once . Well the hair colour is not the only change happening at Miss Frou Frou ! We are all about keeping things fresh and exciting around here and to that end we have sold our stock to some absolutely amazing humans who will continue to create exquisite events for you all ! The lovely Hannah from and , the dynamic duo of James and Jas from and gorgeous Claire from are now the proud owners of all eleventy billion stock items ! I still own the brand as I have an idea or two …. Well you knew I would 😉 Anyhow, I couldn’t be happier with this outcome !
I have the deepest admiration for this group of hard working , incredibly talented entrepreneurs. They have business acumen and creative talent in equal measures and they also possess what mattered most to me … they are thoroughly decent humans who will care about you and your event , they care that they do this well whilst caring for our planet . I have always been so proud of not only the “what” but also the “where from” when curating this collection and I now get to sit back and watch exceptional Hawkes Bay talents do THEIR thing with it .
Thank you to everyone who has entrusted me with their important life moments … it has been an absolute privilege! I have a few existing commitments this summer but will be taking it much easier for a bit as I show my new joints the respect and time they need to be up and running again then watch this space ! I absolutely love the people I work with and can’t wait to create some new magic with them soon …
To Hannah , Jas , James and Claire , I watch happily from the cheap seats as you make your own magic for people who are intelligent and discerning . I don’t need to wish you luck because you have talent and decency by the bucket load !

Here we go again lovely people ! Miss Frou Frou has some spiegelau glasses for sale and thought I would share the love here in time for all your Christmas socializing . I have burgundy , red wine , white wine , champagne coupes and flutes and beer / water glasses. The wine and champagne glasses usually retail for $149.90 for 4 glasses The coupes 120.00 for 4 and the beer glasses 80.00 for 4 . I am selling the wine in all sizes and champagne glasses for $15 each and the coupes for $12 each . The beer/ water for $7.50 each . DM me and I can pop them aside . We have roughly 300 of each in case you have the whole family coming for Christmas 😂###

Today I had the great pleasure of attending a Christmas styling masterclass in Sydney . Steve shared centre stage with Saskia from . These two are consummate professionals whose work I absolutely adore and today was no exception! To spend time with such talented professionals who choose products that are not going to fill our planet with junk or put women and children into a modern form of slavery fills my boots ! They are talented , humble and gracious and I am grateful ###

Well, Miss Frou Frou is selling some vintage glasses . These are just gorgeous and last made in 1950 and as far as I know the only supply in NZ . I don’t have any of the green glasses as they are all spoken for but I have all of the other colors .  Amber are $20 each , navy are $40 each , pink are $100 … $200 to buy now in the states ( they are rare ) cobalt $20 each , plum $30 each and amber champagne which are not vintage are $10 each . This is at least half price on all items and no shipping from the good old US of A ! DM me if you would like to buy some …. Again they are for collect only sorry ###

They are pre loved but in perfect as new condition! We have 43 red wine , 106 flutes, 58 high ball and 23 old fashioned . So this gorgeous Tablescape was not by me but for me ! A couple of Sunday’s ago I was surprised and delighted to be on the receiving end of the generosity and kindness of some of my fellow event industry colleagues and friends . , and collectively organised this fabulous dinner styled by the gorgeous and clever Kim . Thank you all so very much and thank you to all those who attended . I had the best night surrounded by people I have the utmost admiration and respect for. You are all such talented individuals but more importantly you are good and decent and kind . Your moral compasses are on point and that my friends is what will see you through . This past year has been a bit of a health battle for me and one in which I have had to learn to accept help ( ok ok I didn’t learn that at all ) . Each of you has in one way or another helped carry me through to the finish line without me ever having to ask ( I don’t accept help easily and much prefer to be the helper not the helpee ) . I am privileged and proud to know you all and call you friends . The industry is in fine hands with you in it .
Thank you , every time you have helped me out in many ways both big and small this year trust me I have noticed and been so very grateful . James don’t think I haven’t noticed each and every time you have just happened to be there and either loaded or unloaded my van without a word and without fuss … thank you . The world is definitely a better place having you in it ! Ditto Colin Riches , Sam Hardy and John Beaumont . Kim and Hillary … I am not done with you two , I have the beginnings of a plan as I think we have another chapter together yet ! Thank you for the joy that is working with you . In your chosen fields your talents would shine on a global stage so I think we are very lucky to have you here in the bay and I am lucky to have you and yours in my life ! Anyhoo the news is that we have a few more pre booked events throughout the year which is just fabulous but we are not taking any further bookings as Miss Frou Frou herself is off to hospital on Wednesday and needs a bit of time for recovery ! Thank you

And just like that our last weddings of the summer season are done ! 268 fabulous weddings since 1 April 2022 … that is 268 amazing couples who have trusted us with their incredibly special day . We have put 110% in to each and every event and we hope you all felt the love . To the team at MFF …thank you ! This is not an individual sport and our strength is because of you . I am grateful beyond measure for the support I have from our team members both past and present . We have a couple more days of pack downs and clean ups to go but after that the team get to put their feet up for a well earned break … except Candice who has been here from the start and has a new extra job in fashion and Hillary who is managing I think 41 events across NZ in the next month or so … the woman is a well organised machine ! I can’t thank her enough for what she brings to team Frou Frou ! She is everything I am not , organised , systems led , logistical and knows her way around a computer system and she has the very clever Colin who is always there to lend a practical hand when needed . As she famously yelled at me one day “ your brain doesn’t go in a straight line “ . Well it doesn’t ( it’s what’s called a monkey brain…. All over the shop with ideas running around 24/7 ) . Then there’s my boyfriend who has certainly earned his dinners this past year ( he gets paid in dinners ) . Thank you for always being there when needed and always believing in me and what I choose to do …. Well mainly …except for my driving skills ! To our clients , thank you for trusting us with your biggest moments . The responsibility of this has made us strive harder every day to exceed your expectations and make magical memories for you . It has been the best thank you ! ###

I thought we had been a tad busy ! Anyhow I am so proud that each of these items arrives at your events in the most perfect condition and that is all because of the work ethic and commitment to excellence of my gorgeous team ! I can’t thank them enough . We produced 30 amazing weddings in the three weeks following the cyclone from a showroom / work area that had been flooded and my girls were champions working in somewhat less than ideal conditions …. Thank you , you are amazing humans and much valued ###

Going to work these past two days has allowed a little beauty back into our lives. We have been so badly affected by the cyclone here in my home town and our hearts are breaking for everyone affected, so a big thank you to our brides and grooms this weekend for the beautiful distraction from clean up mode … it was good for the soul . The drive to and from and got me thinking about all the ways we can help . At Miss Frou Frou we have donated money , clothing , baking and groceries but with our own clean up to contend with we have been short on TIME to help others and this has weighed heavily . I am thinking that there are others who don’t live here who want to help too . You can donate money to one of the registered organizations and you can also shop Hawkes Bay . We are hearing stories of businesses who are already down huge amounts on turnover and this will continue unless we all make an effort to support them so that they can continue to pay local staff . So if you are from outside Hawkes Bay please go online next time you need to purchase something and do it from a store in Hawkes Bay , they will be truly grateful and if you are from Hawkes Bay you shouldn’t need to be reminded to do this . At Miss Frou Frou we are lucky to work with amazing local talent in the events industry and very rarely need to use goods or services from outside the region except for tablecloths from .linen.hire which are otherwise unavailable here . When you are choosing who to work with for your next event please choose those who choose local , you will be guaranteed a fabulous event and you will also be helping many families who have been extremely adversely affected by the past few days . Those who don’t choose local at this point in time should be hanging their heads in shame ! My drive today broke my heart and I have friends who have suffered devastating losses and who are currently broken . It is going to take time for us to become the gorgeous , lush , green productive horticultural, agricultural and viticultural region that we are known for but we will be back better than ever because collectively we can do this. Today Miss Frou Frou styled a wedding at in the Wairarapa with Mr Frou Frou as her only accessible assistant ( he took instruction well ). We were grateful for the work and for the distraction from the flood we left behind. Today’s wedding would rate as our soggiest wedding ever but everyone working today pulled together to create magic for our couple. It was Katie from .weddings last wedding and we shall miss working with her immensely . Katie is professional, cheerful and thoroughly decent ! We wish you well with your future Katie and thank you for the fun times .
