No words can do justice to the magnificence of our very own Great Hall, Arts Centre, Christchurch.

So very fortunate to officiate a wedding there today...so I will let the photos speak for themselves.

Not a bridal bouquet for the celebrant, but a bouquet of thanks for my "Address to the Haggis" from the Scottish Society at their Burns Supper Night, held tonight, 25 January - the actual date of the birthday of the great Scots Bard.

A grand time was had by all!

Celebrant hat definitely off today in favour of my Christmas hat of many drums.
So wonderful to see the cheering crowds and children soooo excited for Father Christmas - five floats behind us.

An incredible night for CANZ Canterbury celebrants at Bell, Lamb and Trotter funeral directors, in which we learnt all about resomation, or natural water cremation. Presented by Deborah Richards of Water Cremation Aotearoa and Andrew Bell, this PD event was run both live at B, L &T premises, and online livestream.

This will be a first in NZ, available from Bell, Lamb and Trotter once launched in 2025.

A far gentler form of cremation than flame cremation, this could well become the most requested form of cremation in the near future.

Weekend off for the celebrant.

Waiting on our bus to play in the Parade at the Oamaru Victorian Heritage celebrations this morning. Parade at midday today; tomorrow the Victorian Fete. Soooo cold here today. Breeze off the sea verra nippy!! Thank Gawd for our pure wool full military uniforms!!!

I'm so thrilled to announce that I am now a VCANZ celebrant!

Which basically means I am authorized to officiate registry ceremonies (as well as big ceremonies, of course).

So if you and your significant other are looking to get wed but don't want a grand affair that costs precious dollars you don't want, or have, to spend, then a simple registry ceremony is your answer.

Lookin' forward to marrying you fabulous couples Registry Style now and into 2025.

Céline the Celebrant wearing her other hat - tenor drummer for City of Christchurch Highland Pipe Band - and this was at the Heathcote Valley Inn, a lovely thank you from organisers of Heathcote Valley ANZAC Day commemorations to those who take part in in Heathcote Dawn Parade every year.

The band thought an impromptu jam session for our hosts was in order.
