⭐How to change your name after your wedding in New Zealand

⭐Are you considering changing your surname after getting married? When you get married or enter a civil union in New Zealand, you don’t have to fill out any forms to change your surname. You can start using your spouse’s surname right away. And change it back at any time.

⭐While you can still travel on a passport or with your driver’s licence in your original surname, if you do want to apply for new documents (or any other paperwork, bank accounts, etc.) with your new surname, you can use your marriage or civil union CERTIFICATE showing your spouse or partner’s surname as evidence of your new surname.

We cannot thank Nicky enough for being a constant support and guide during our nuptials. She was incredibly diligent, kind and helped us with key details we hadn’t even thought of haha. Our ceremony was such a joyous occasion, made that much better and stress free because of her.
She is super friendly, professional and has an amazing sense of humour. We consider ourselves so lucky to have had Nicky as our celebrant, she had us laughing and at ease from the get go! We cannot recommend her enough and anyone who has her as their celebrant is in for a good time!
