'Māori Arts & Culture Holiday Programme 2023' coming up this July school holidays.

We have heaps of fun, educational activities for tamariki all ages. This holidays we celebrate Matariki and Te Ao Māori and what it means for us all at Rainbow Tribe Kids Care. We will be making Manu Aute, Wishing stars, Poi and Tī Rākau making, Rāranga and Mau Rākau wananga, a Marae Stay and so much more...

We have heaps of spaces available and discounts going as well this holidays, so if you're looking for something for your tamariki to do this holidays send us a PM or email us at:

Another catering done today 😊

Today, alongside local businesses Sweetness By Whaiora, and The Awhi Cart, we catered our 2nd Vaccination Kaupapa on Newall Street in Kawerau.
It was a beautiful day, with yummy kai, delicious puddings, refreshing ice cream and coffee, and a success for Vaccinations 🥳

Today we supported an awesome Vaccination kaupapa in Kawerau, on Newall Street.
It was amazing to see local businesses turn up and support whanau to get vaccinated.
There was yummy kai, delicious puddings, coffee, ice chocolates, ice cream, and gift vouchers - all free for people who chose to get their jab and for their whanau who supported them.

Thank you to Uncle Sam and his whanau for asking us to be apart of their Kaupapa 💖

Sorry I've missing in action for a while... life has been craaaaazy busy the last month.
A new business venture has taken flight for us and I'm sooo proud of the mahi my business partner and I have put into it 💖
The new mahi is Rainbow Tribe Kids Care before, afterschool care and holiday programme. We ran our Maori Arts and Culture Holiday Programme during the school holidays and it was a huge success 🎉🥳 we were sooo overwhelmed by the community support, our friends and whanau who awhi during the 2 weeks and all our new Rainbow Tribe Kids and whanau who enrolled into the programme ❤ Kīhini Queens ran a day of cooking classes with the Rainbow Tribe Kids in the first week of the holidays and they were an awesome bunch of bakers 👩‍🍳🥰 we look forward to running more workshops like these next holidays.

Also besides the new mahi adventures, all those last minute details and additions to my tender submission for next terms Free Healthy Lunches In Schools programme contracts, we hear back from MOE next week so fingers and toes crossed🤞..time is just flying il tell ya, you blink and a month is gone 🤯

Anyways back to the lunches 😂 we are running our Takurua Menu at TWTOP this term (Term 3). All those hot meals the kids enjoy and love, all suitable for our random weather we've been having in the BOP. We have made some sliiiight, tiny, minuuuuute 🤏 adjustments to this menu to fit into the MOE requirements and guidelines, but no dramatic changes to our menu WE know works for our tamariki at TWTOP. We did slowly start incorporating the changes last term, with the kids barely noticing the difference 👌🤭, so we know the kids are definitely ready for the change now.

First week of the term they had:
Pumpkin soup and wholemeal bread rolls, Chicken fettuccine, Filled rolls, Lasagne, Sea dogs and a range of fruit, yogurt, crackers, vege sticks and muffins.

This week they had a short week due to Kura a iwi hui. So they had:
Chicken soup and wholemeal bread rolls, wraps, nachos, a range of fruit and yogurt.
Nachos is usually an end of the week treat (Friday lunches) but because they had a short week we adjusted the menu so they could finish out with something yummmmmy 🤤 they were extremely happy with the change 🥳😊

TWTOP had nachos today, with all the undercover veges hidden in there 👌😂 I am getting too good 😎

This week's menu consisted of...
Chicken soup and bread rolls, Spaghetti and meatballs, Bangers stew and creamy mash, Honey mustard chicken wraps, fresh yogurt, crackers, popcorn, pretzels, jelly and fruit muffins.

It's been busy in the Kīhini Queens kitchen this week, but that went fast! Week 1 of term 2 done and dusted 😎

We introduced our 'Ngahuru Menu' (Autumn Menu) to the tamariki at TWTOP.. and they are loving their warm kai ❤

And we are loving all the extra veges we can hide in their soups, stews, etc. This week they had lasagne. We hid cauliflower in the layers, and they didn't even notice the difference 🥳😂

On their Menu this week, they had... pumpkin soup, chicken and mushroom fettuccine, filled rolls, lasagne, sea dogs, and a range of snacks and muffins.

🤤🤤🤤 NACHOS 🤤🤤🤤

We usually have nachos as a treat on Fridays, but because they have a T.O.D (teachers only day) this Friday, we gave them their treat day today 🙂

We cater to TWTOP from their kura kitchen, so we can juggle the menu to suit the tamariki and their schedule 👌

They also have EBOP Swimming apopo in WHK so we've changed up the menu for something more suitable for them to take away in the morena - filled rolls, crackers and cheese and cookie 🥰
