Meri kirihimete e te whānau!

I want to thank every one of you for your continued support for my little pakihi whakaāhua. I hope that every one of you have the break that you deserve!

I look forward to capturing many more beautiful faces in 2025!

I can't believe that it has almost been a year since these two tied the knot... It was the most stunning Northland backyard wedding - honestly the way that I'd have my own wedding...

Estimates say 35,000—looking at all of the time lapses and drone footage, I reckon more—much more.

One of the things I was in awe of was the peace, the unity, the feeling of welcomeness to everyone. Māori, Tangata Tiriti, and Tauiwi alike came together to stand for their beliefs. Everything positive that has been said about Hīkoi mō Te Tiriti is true- it was that and more..

So many people came together and I loved seeing many faces like mine, not just Māori faces, but Māori photographers, videographers, cinematographers, filmmakers, and journalists and all other Māori in media. Seeing my people directly also made me feel proud.

Anyway, about the photos:

The intent of these photos was to show the movement; literally and symbolically. I didn't want many faces too clear because when you stand as one, and embody kotahitanga, you are no longer just yourself, you are a collective - no single face is the subject, it is all of the faces. The movement of the movement..

Shepards Warning

I think this is my favourite photo from Friday night. I hope everyone was able to get out and see the aurora! She put on a spectacular show at around 11:30 p.m.!

I went to Castle Point on a last-minute trip because all indicators pointed to the aurora going off. I didn't expect the lighthouse to be so tricky to shoot though?

I'll upload my other photos from the night as the week progresses!

Just wanted to share another batch of my favourite frames from the Ha Giang Loop in Vietnam - where you travel from the largest northern town, Ha Giang all the way to the China-Vietnam boarder and back.

It is a super epic experience that everyone who is visiting Vietnam should try!

The Philippines has to be the prettiest place on planet Earth. Here are some of my favourite shots I took while we were there.

These videos were colour-graded to best match my feeling while being over there in the 30-40° sun.

Ahiahi marie koutou,

Here is another little video that I was asked to shoot for Breast Cancer Cure. It was another fundraiser event that raised over $50,000! Another cool day to be apart of!

Continuing the posts from people from Te Kura Pakihi (The Business School). Here is some of last year's executive team of Te Tai Tuarā, the Māori Business School Student's Association. Had a lot to do with these guys and very sad to be done with that chapter of life :(

This was a special one for me. After many years of being a wedding photographer and videographer, I still had not shot a wedding in Kawerau; until this one. It felt a little more like home with the ceremony next to awa Tarawera and Koro Pūtauaki standing behind, protecting the day.

So, so much love - congratulations to the newlyweds

Life update time:

Over the past year, I have been super quiet on this page because I had started Masters and since finishing in February (with Distinction), I have been travelling!

In the past 3/4 months, I have travelled to Canada, moved back home to Kawerau from Dunedin, and been on a 2-month-long trip through Southeast East Asia, travelling through: the Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia - below are 4 of my favourite photos from each country.

Now that I'm back in Aotearoa/Kawerau for the foreseeable future, I am looking for work in the fields that I am qualified in (International Business, Marketing, Sustainable Business, Sustainability). In parallel to this, I will be looking to continue this photography/videography work that you all have been supportive of over the past many years and I look forward to growing this business the most of all!

Expect a catch-up on a lot of mahi that I never got around to posting, maybe a rebrand, and a larger push for this business to grow!

Thank you all for sticking around!

This was a cool walk through a Canadian forest that made me (for the first time) really appreciate Pine trees. It was a breath of fresh air seeing how they naturally sort themselves amongst the ecosystem while also seeing forest beds thriving. A lot more pleasing than commercially planted Pine forests strictly for export or carbon credits.

P.s. Clearing the Canada cache to make room for the Philippines photo dump
