It might be King's Birthday but it was also the funeral for a much loved mum, step mum, granny and great granny today. A very generous lady who made many patchwork quilts and knitted many beanies and jerseys for family members and others. Such an honour to lead the service.

A special send off today for a man described as Mr Fix-it, a man of the land who was kind, generous and loving to all and as a bonus, he gave the best hugs ever. I love the quote that several people mentioned that he used regularly - "it's not broken, I just haven't fixed it yet."
It was also the first funeral service I have taken in a shed - it was just so appropriate.

Today we farewelled a lovely man with a service in Kerikeri and then took him to his final resting place at the Russell Cemetery - such a beautiful place overlooking the sea that he loved so much.

What a beautiful spot for an elopement wedding on a beautiful Easter Sunday. Followed that with a visit to see a couple of grandies - Mr 4 was doing some heavy lifting to train as an All Black while Miss 7 enjoyed a quiet drink.
