It's been a busy week preparing for the upcoming wedding season. I've met with a couple who have a surprise wedding around the corner and I'm meeting with two gentlemen this afternoon from Auckland to arrange their big day in Rangiora in the New Year.

I still have some dates free this season, and you'll be surprised at how many couples get engaged and married in a short space of time. There are no rules! If you want to talk to me about getting hitched, let me know :-)

We used Katie for our wedding of 120 guests and she breezed through the process without any issues. Katie was very cruisey and nothing was ever a problem, she helped us alot prior and made the process very straight forward. She made a stressful situation on the day much easier and if I ever got married again I know I would use her again without a doubt

Last month I was honoured to officiate Pete and Kaska's wedding at the Majestic on Durham. It was a special day and the first wedding I've done where I haven't had to worry about what the weather would be like as it was an indoor event and it really worked well.

It was great to work with all the vendors involved and it was a beautiful wedding. A special mention to the Majestic on Durham, the acoustics were amazing in the ceremony and the reception rooms.

I used to work with Pete and love his vibrant personality. He has found the perfect match in Kaska, I'm thrilled they've tied the knot and that I was part of their perfect day.

Sitting here in my car on Christmas Eve waiting for a bride to arrive. We are going to enter their back yard for a surprise wedding! How exciting!
PS. The groom knows he's getting married, it's not that kind of surprise 🫢 the guests have no idea.

Thank you very much to the family of Melanie Sincock. Over the last week they have welcomed me into their home so that I could get to know the late Mel and officiate the celebration of her life on Friday.

The huge gathering at the RSA and the hear felt reflections from her family showed just how much she was loved by so many. Thank you for inviting me to officiate and to help you all.

It was the first wedding of the season on Saturday for me and it was a goodie! The weather was cooler and greyer than we planned for, but a small wedding in the garden makes everything warm and inviting. It was a beautiful afternoon and I love the cake 😜 The comment I got below made my day 💞

Thankyou Katie for conducting my friends wedding in the manner they wanted and keeping them as the focus. So many celebrants think the day is about them but you were the epitome of professional discretness focussed on the job in a beautiful manner. Thankyou ❤️

As the first day of Spring arrives tomorrow, so does wedding season! I've met with two couples recently and have their wedding ceremonies all written up.

This season will be a busy one, with 7 weddings lined up this side of Christmas. It's such an honour to be part of one of the happiest days in people's lives. Bring on wedding season 23/24!

I love doing something different!

Dylan and Sarah were married this month. They wanted Sarah's Aunty to be the celebrant. Aunty Denise is in the process of becoming a celebrant, but her registration hadn't come through in time for the wedding.

Denise reached out to me, I helped with writing her ceremony, went to the rehearsal and guided the wedding party, while providing support to Denise.

On the big day Denise conducted the ceremony just the way that they all wanted, and I was on hand to officiate the paperwork/legal part of proceedings.

It was a rewarding experience being part of Dylan and Sarah's beautiful day and being able to help Denise with her duties.

Congratulations to Rob and Stacey who I 'married' over the weekend. The couple are among many others who have been overseas throughout the last few years, unable to come home.

They were married in September 2022 in the UK, and then came home to have a celebration with their kiwi family and friends. We had everything you would expect here without the paperwork - so much fun!

This week I had the honour of officiating my first funeral. It was for Mr Woods in Rangiora. I have found another level of being able to help people. I came away from the day of celebration of Mr Woods life with the feeling that I had truly helped others in a way I hadn't experienced before, and it was amazing. The team at Lamb and Hayward in Rangiora were great in hosting and helping us all.

It was also fantastic to get good feedback from the family too.

No Sweat - that can be done.

Congratulations to Tony and Kristina who wanted just that. Last week I went to their home and conducted a registry wedding for them, with their parents as witnesses. It was special to everyone involved and they have sealed the deal the way they wanted to!

It was one of the best days of my life. Making our relationship official, and finally being able to say "my husband" is something I will never take for granted.
