AYURVEDA WORKSHOPS 🙂
A wonderful opportunity is coming up for those who would like to learn more about Ayurveda. Christine, our resident Ayurveda Therapist will be sharing some empowering knowledge in a workshop series in Timaru on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of April 2023. ...here is her invitation:
“Three hours per workshop will give us plenty of time to explore, play and discuss how to foster balance of the elements inside and around us.
I will be bringing loads of spices, herbs, mantras, meditations and tools to spark your inspiration and sprinkle ayurvedic delight into your life 🙂
If you have wanted to know more about Ayurveda and how it can be applied in practical way... maybe you want to come and join the workshops. You can book them individually too...
Here the different sessions:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Introduction to Ayurveda
Saturday, 15.4.23
10.00 am - 1.00 pm
In this introduction to Ayurveda we look into its fundamental teaching of the five elements. You´ll get to understand how those manifest in us and how they ultimately define our unique individual constitution ( bodytype/dosha).
Ayurvedic Wisdom about Digestion & Diet
Saturday, 15.4.23
3.00 - 6.00 pm
In this session I invite you to explore the anatomy of our digestion.
Lets add some Ayurvedic wisdom to our western knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Together, we investigate the journey our food takes as it enters our system, clarify functions of our digestive organs and discuss factors of an ayurvedic diet and how we can regulate digestion.
Time management, food combinations and the consideration of spices and flavours are well known qualities of Ayurvedic Cooking . I´ll bring spices, herbs and oils from my Ayurveda Practice in Little River for you to experience. You only need to bring yourselfs including all six senses 🙂
Ayurvedic Rituals for good health & harmony!
Sunday, 16.4.23
10.00 am - 1.00 pm
Weather patterns, seasonal changes, menstrual cycle and menopause can affect our mental and physical wellbeing. Ayurveda can help you to reclaim and restore your own energy to flow easeful and undisturbed. At any time of the day, at any season, in every stage of your life.
In this workshop we will have a look at the biorhythm of the day, the year and the different stages in the human life. In gaining more insight into natures seasons and cycles we can understand how to gently adjust to them. I will also introduce you to Dinacharya - the mastering of the day!
Activate your self healing power!
The art of self massage
Sunday, 16.4.23
3.00 - 6.00 pm
You will learn a variety of effective techniques to lower tension in your entire body with a focus on specific areas such as psoas and trapezius … which are the usual suspects for physical discomfort.
You will learn how to use your own hands, feet and knees to access certain areas and pressure points. We will go through a full body sequence step by step and finish with a harmonising meditation.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Ko au te taiao. We are nature. As in Maori theology, yoga recognises a connection within and without, to our deep selves and the environment we inhabit.
Our December retreat—Sacred Nature Connection—is all about honouring this connection, taking time away from the usual rhythm of life to refresh and immerse yourself in the beautiful sanctuary that is Okuti Garden Ecostay.
Flowing and restorative yoga, ayurvedic philosophy, nutritious kai and lots of time in nature!
