Why we love

Not sure about you but when I heard NZ’s first Cinnabon store was opening Saturday 9th November 2024 I quite literally contemplated making a road trip 🤔🏎️

But stop pumping that gas guys…we are now lucky enough to have our very own version ( that may even be debatable as to which has the better Cinnabon if you ask me ) And you can find these beauties in the cutest little Westshore cafe

Cinnabons not your thing? Mr Wise’s scones (in my opinion) are world famous here in HB. Condolences to those who have never heard of or tried one ( where have you been?? You are quite literally missing out on tasting a prime piece of HB history) But yes, they In themselves are worth a visit also 😋

No I know I say it every week but I honestly could go on and probably lose you in the process but I hope that by now you’ve actually stopped reading this post and are on your way to anyway 😜

Why we love

If you didn’t already know I go absolutely bananas for Asian Fusion Food / Street Food 😋

My favourite two from definitely being one, Wontons- Classic Pork or Cheeseburger, yes you read that correctly, cheeseburger 🍔 Bite into either of these flavours, paired with hits of their sweet and sour sauce that brings back childhood nostalgia of waiting for your order at you favourite Asian takeaway shop as a kid, always delivers!

And two…hands down their Chicken Strips, these beauties hit the sweet spot with an impressive balance of sweet yet savoury tender crunchy coated chicken, need I say more 😋🍗

⚠️Be warned though…both these will have you feeling full yet reaching for more as that ever so prominent ‘I can’t let these go to waste’ will most definitely be running through your mind ( my advice - order and eat to your hearts desire)

Why we love

Firstly , there’s just no where quite like it here in Hawke’s Bay PLUS you can dine in their Tree hut ( yes you read that right- Tree hut, and trust me you may not want to leave)

I’ve loved Crab Farm for years now and can hand on heart say that their food and flavours have remained consistent and downright flavoursome the entire time. Think wholesome local food paired with their own selection of amazing wines - heck I’m going one step more, imagine enjoying a wine with your meal under the trees on a sunny Hawkes Bay day, nestled by a cracking ( yet extremely safe) open fire on a cold winters night or under the fairy lights as the sun goes down on a beautiful Friday evening….convinced yet?

For me it’s ‘ the experience’ you get to enjoy when visiting Crab Farm Winery and it’s also that experience that will always keep me going back….delicious food and wine are simply the icing on the cake.

So if you’ve always driven past and thought ‘ I wonder what’s in there’ ( as I did for a number of years before kicking myself that I hadn’t been there sooner! ) Don’t be like me, book yourself a table and get there to enjoy the experience too. May even see you there 😉🍽️🥂

Pork Loin GF on request - served on a potato, poppyseed & tarragon cake with fennel, bok choy, rocket & apple salad with an apple reduction and beurre Blanc sauce

Scotch fillet GF on request- 250g Angus scotch fillet served on horseradish sauce, carrots & parsnips, wilted spinach, salad verde, cafe de Paris butter & pine nuts

Tiramisu - ladyfingers dipped in coffee layered with mascarpone

Why we love .nz -

Top of the list, you can buy a carrot! Yes that’s right, it even comes with its own carrot stand, who could ever fault that quirkiness and I myself am absolutely for it.

Honest truth, for me it sets the tone .nz is inviting, funky and memorable on every level! Great burgers teamed with an impressive selection of sides ( even broccoli for the heath conscious such as myself) not to also forget a great selection of drinks. I could honestly go on but should really leave something for you to experience for yourselves.

Before I go, I can’t sign this off without also mentioning their support for our community itself…..hats off to you guys for taking what you do to also benefit our community!

You can help your community, just by eating in your community…absolutely love it! See you again soon 🍔🍔

Definitely one of my faves here in Hawkes Bay! has never disappointed ( and im@not ashamed to say that I’ve been MULTIPLE times) 😋

Why we love ?

It’s the smell as soon as you hit the farmers market on a Sunday morning for me!

With both sweet and savoury options, the mix of caramel and banana gets me 90% of the time. Held in a delicate holder, you can eat and enjoy that bad boy anywhere!

If you didn’t know, they’re also available outside Kmart Hastings but if this post had tantalised your tastebuds, get to tomorrow to grab one for yourself🥞
