Well its almost the end of 2024, with Christmas in just 4 sleeps! Hamish has once again thought ahead, so is putting out an invitation to welcome in the New Year together

We would like to ask for a volunteer/volunteers to contact our non facebook friends or do a letter box drop or email out, text or smoke signals...

As always, it would be neat to see you all and catch up on what's been happening in the valley. Feel free to share this the more the merrier.

Hi everyone. I'm wanting to get a group of people together who are keen to help with some maintenance on the old hall.
We have funding available via the TDC (thank you!) to build a ramp at the front along with paint for the exterior
I've got an airless painter but we need to replace a few boards, do some water blasting before giving it a coat.
Ideally, if there are some locals that are keen to pick up and run with regular jobs that would be awesome but a one off working bee could be a good start.
Yell out if you are keen to help and we will make a date thanks in advance, Tim

Afternoon everyone, please have a read of the following message from Joe and contact him direct if you can help.

The Tapawera Civil Defence group is trying to locate and contact round-the-year locals in Stanley Brook interested in hosting a crisis walkie-talkie, to be a point of contact in case of floods and other natural disasters. Location preferred to be at a reasonable distance/altitude from historical floods, and some off-the-grid capacity to keep the walkie-talkie charged in the case of a blackout.
