Then you might just be the perfect person for this role!

We’re seeking a FULL TIME Bridal Consultant for an initial 12 month Fixed-Term Parental Leave Cover position.

This is a multi-faceted role that will suit an outgoing and motivated individual who’s willing to learn. Retail/Customer experience would be beneficial but isn’t entirely necessary - full training will be given.

Basic PC Literacy would be advantageous as would flexibility to working hours as evening and (every) weekend work is part of the role.

I’m sorry, but, WHAT?!

It feels like it was only yesterday that we were having a blast at the 2024 Wedding Show….and now 2025 is just around the corner!

Wedding Season is OFFICIALLY here!

So here's a timely wedding etiquette reminder to Wedding Vendors and Guests alike...

IT'S NOT YOUR MOMENT TO SHARE!

There - I said it. I'm not going to be popular for saying it - but it has to be said. Sure - you want to capture all the beautiful details and special moments so that you can look back and enjoy/share them. But you don't get to do it first.

WAIT before you post your photos to social media - give the happy couple the chance to share their milestone moments first. Better still - ask for permission before you post, or even better - share the photo with them and let them decide if it should be shared.

And PLEASE - this should go without saying, but incase it doesn't - don't share photos of the set-up, the bride, the couple or any other details before the wedding has even taken place.

Remember - this is one of the most important moments in someone else's life - it's not a marketing opportunity.

Never underestimate the importance of leaving your Vendors a review if you loved their work!

As a small business owner - I can tell you first hand that a good review gives me MAJOR warm fuzzies and can give you a major boost! Sometimes, when you’re a small business trying to muddle through the chaos of a cost of living crisis and a global recession (not to mention this is straight off the back of a global pandemic) - when you’re selling a service or product that is not only seasonal but not exactly an essential - it can be easy to misplace your mojo - a positive review from a happy customer can be such a shining light! When you leave a great review - believe it or - most of your Vendors will do an actual happy dance!

Oh - (just an FYI) and you can review your Vendors on their listings on our Directory too!

2025 is almost here and I can't quite get my head around it....didn't we JUST celebrate Easter?!?

We've got big plans on the horizon for 2025 - we're making changes to how we do things here at TW - some of them you might not even notice and some of them might be huge! Either way - we believe a change is as good as a rest....well almost - we totally wouldn't say "no" to a cheeky island vacay around about now!

It's one of the first things every couple should do when they're sitting down to work out their Wedding Budget and making a "To Do" list - figure out what aspects of your Wedding are the most important to you and prioritise them in terms of your budget setting and planning.

It might be that you're a massive foodie and securing an amazing caterer is a top priority, maybe you want a specific venue with stunning sea views, it might be that you have your eye on a high end designer Bridal Gown or you've been following a particular photographer and you really want them to capture your day.

These are all super important factors when it comes to putting together your Wedding Budget and deciding where to prioritise your spending. So if you're at the beginning of your Wedding Planning - it's time to get out your notebook and decide between you what are your priorities and then work backwards from there!

We hope it comes naturally, but incase it doesn’t - when you’re planning your special day - please try and shop local wherever you can.

We have an abundance of incredible talent and so many amazing options when it comes to all-things-Wedding in the Taranaki Region - from Marquees of every size and furnishings of every style, talented and creative florists and photographers, passionate and professional celebrants and planners and stunning options for your dresses & suits, and so, so much more - we really spoilt for choice in Taranaki.

But what’s even more important is to remember that by shopping local - you’re supporting the local community and keeping our region alive. Local Vendors use local accountants, lawyers and marketing companies, local vendors eat, drink and shop locally and your local Wedding Vendors support local charities and community organisations.

So before you hire your marquee from the Waikato or book your photographer from Auckland - shop local and see if you can find what you need right here in our beautiful and abundant region.

Do you know we’ve hosted an incredible TEN Annual Taranaki Weddings Shows?

We can hardly believe it’s been more than 10 years since we took the TW reins and transformed the fledgling local Directory into the bustling community it is now!

After every Wedding Show I say it’s my last….but it never ever because, despite the immense amount of work involved - we love every moment of the Wedding Show, we love to see the venue transformation, the creative and engaging stalls that just get better and better every year, the incredible growth our exhibitors experience and the energy and excitement our visitors experience.

We’re about to get plans underway for the 2025 Taranaki Weddings Show and over the coming months we’ll be announcing the date, the venue and opening up stall applications - there’ll be some changes for 2025, but for now - let’s reminisce about the awesomeness that was the 2024 Taranaki Weddings Show.
