Hi New Plymouth! Just a quick PSA that trains are now back running down to the Port so if you're crossing the tracks near the Coastal Walkway - be sure to keep an eye and ear out for them, and always look carefully both ways before crossing the tracks. The New Plymouth District Council and KiwiRail have done an awesome job putting in automatic gates at some crossings, but there are still other crossings where you will need to rely on your own behaviour to cross safely.
