NEW ZEALAND SKY & FREEVIEW SATELLITE DISH TV CHANGES -
If you watch Sky or Freeview TV via a Satellite dish & not a Terresteial aerial/antenna, then you might be affected by the Satellite (Optus D2 in the sky) decommissioning & changes that come into effect by May 2025.
You might be experiencing intermittent disruptions, particularly to misaligned dishes (not terrestrial aerials). Your TV Guy (like Jay Kay Pro) can solve this issue by re-aligning your dish at specific time-frame windows.
It should also be worth noting, due to the new satellite being changed in the sky, older versions of freeview decoders will not support the new transmission satellite, the easiest way to determine if your decoder will work is to see if it currently receives Channel 20 (Al Jazeera English), if you cannot see this channel then you need to upgrade your freeview decoder, or change to a TV with a dual tuner.
For more information, visit Freeview TV or Sky TV's website for updates to the Optus D2 decommissioning & recommissioning of a new satellite in the sky.
