What an incredible turnout at our inaugural FIKA community luncheon at the Ohinemuri Club yesterday! We're deeply grateful to everyone who attended and helped make this event a resounding success. Through your collective efforts, we've successfully raised $400 for the Ohinemuri Club Maintenance and Development Fund and another $400 for KidsCan NZ.

Our heartfelt appreciation extends to all who supported our raffles, the Ohinemuri Club for graciously allowing us to use their premises, and our amazing sponsors Valley Funeral Services, Lorraine and Pete C, Jan and Ian M for their generous donations to our raffle prizes. Thank you for embodying the spirit of community and generosity.

A special thank you to our superstar team - Pam D, Carmen J, Christine N, and Jeanette M - who worked tirelessly to make this luncheon an unforgettable experience. Kudos to Carmen J for her outstanding work as our MC and quiz mistress. We're also deeply grateful to Rangi for sharing his incredible talent with us and Kathy B for capturing the beauty of the event through her photography. Your selflessness and dedication have left an indelible mark on our hearts.

Happy May everyone! We are beyond thrilled to reignite our monthly "COME FIKA WITH US" Luncheon after a brief hiatus. The event will be held at our brand-new location, The Ohinemuri Club, on 14 June 2025 (Saturday) from 12 to 2.30pm. We are deeply grateful for your unwavering support and eagerly look forward to reuniting with all of you again.

The dynamic Rangi will once again mesmerize us with entertainment, and the proceeds of our raffles will go towards KidsCan NZ and the Ohinemuri Club Maintenance and Development Fund. If you haven't attended any of these luncheons, it will be a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with old friends and forge new ones. Though our luncheons primarily cater to our seniors, their family and friends are also warmly welcome.

The moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived! We're thrilled to announce that we'll be operating from the Ohinemuri Club starting 27 May 2025.🎉

This incredible milestone is made possible by the unwavering love, encouragement, and support of our amazing regulars and genuine friends who believe in our mission to remain local as we embark on a new chapter for our business. We feel truly blessed and grateful to be able to continue doing what we love and giving back to the community with our FIKA High tea luncheons and other events.

Our business hours will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays (club night - non-members are always welcome!), Fridays, and Saturdays. Lunches, starting on 3 June 2025, will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our $12 takeout meals will be available from next week. An overdue appreciation post but an essential one.

It was such an awesome turnout at our final "COME FIKA WITH US" High Tea community luncheon held at the Paeroa RSA on 5 April 2025. Thank you very much to those who have attended the event. We have successfully raised another $400 for the Paeroa RSA Building Fund and another $400 for CanTeen NZ.

Our deepest gratitude goes out to everyone who have supported us in the raffles, the Paeroa RSA for allowing us to use their premises for all our community events, our amazing sponsors, Lorraine and Pete C, Jan and Ian M, Sandra B, Robyn L, Joanne B and Valley Funeral Services for some of the gifts in our raffles. Thank you very much for your generosity and support in our community events.

A massive thank you to the superstars who have made this luncheon successful and memorable - Kitt and Carolyn, Denise S and Kathy B, Angelina L and Sam. Special thanks goes to our amazing band Rangi with his amazing voice and music, our wonderful MC and quiz mistress Joanne, our lovely photographer Kathy B for taking all the beautiful photos, and Patch, for helping us with the bar and drawing of the raffles. Thank you so so much from the bottom of our hearts.

Against all odds, we can proudly announce that we have successfully fund raised a total of $6284 for the Paeroa RSA Building Fund and $7642 for all the other charities. It has not been an easy road for us organising these community events - all the hard work, sleepless nights, sweat and tears, but it was well worth it! We are very glad to be able to make a difference in someone's life.

A final mega huge thank you to everyone who have given us their sincere well wishes for our next journey. We are very overwhelmed but at the same time, blessed and grateful for all the love and support that have been showered upon us up to our very last day of operation. Though we are fully aware of those verbal enthusiasts who have suddenly taken a keen interest in our personal affairs, constantly speculating our next move and bringing unwanted attention to us (you know you are and we know who you are!), thus causing us much inconvenience and grief (sadly some of whom are active church goers), we sincerely urge these lost souls to fully utilize their given verbal talents to help us to promote our future business and participate actively in our future community events. We are not here to name shame the culprits but to continue to spread love and kindness as we always do and urge these people to do likewise.
