An overview of the Open Eurosport 24th scale class held at the NZSCA Nationals on 25 August 2024.
A wide variety of BL cars and a few straps.
Paul Belchambers got a solid second with his brushed ( old school) motor to Chris Dillon with his exotic BL setup..
Eben had his own BL development and Steve Murch manufactured several 1103 (red) packages that went very well.

The 2024 NZSCA Nationals are this weekend at the WSCC in Porirua.
18 entries, 6 classes over the weekend.
The first class is F-1 , a 4500 kV Brushless motor In a JK chassis, fixed gear ratio, 9:36 and specified rear axle height.
Entries include racers travelling from Auckland, Taranaki, Hamilton, Blenheim, Motueka and Christchurch.
Qualification first, then 3 heats.
3 minutes per lane X 8 lanes.
The winner is the most laps covered in 24 minutes.

The WOT ( Wellington Old Timers) team is made up of Chris Dillon, Steve Murrey & Allan Tucker . In 2023 they were the only team to have a ( brushed) motor failure, ( bushings ) and came in third overall. So the ball races this year with the BL, this should prevent this being an issue over 8 hours. 2023 NZSCA 1/24 8 Hour Teams Enduro .

Rainbow 🌈 Racing is the last year's Enduro winners with 3 top driver's being Paul Belchambers, Chris Parkes and golfer Russell Levy. How will Russell get on with the new BL technology?

Our Story

We used to have a 6 lane 54 meter long wooden slot car track at 12.5 Volts with heavy wiring to an elevated drivers stand and multiple power feeds ensures good even power to all lanes. Achieved with a superior 150 Amp Switched mode power supply and two 12 volt truck batteries. This new layout was built March 2012 after we moved to the Porirua premises from our 14 years at the original Ten Pin Bowling Site in Petone. This track has now been parted out to two groups, Paul in Foxton and Scott Waite who has a basic figure 8 now into storage.

In June 2020, a new 8 lane wooden (plywood) track manufactured by Janis Nabokins in Latvia is installed. This new track is now with individual power packs per lane. We have kept the elevated drivers stand. This track is shorter, around 46.44 Metres long
