Happy ANZAC day if that isn’t an oxymoron. Both my grandfathers served in WWII - one became a prisoner of war in Europe soon after he joined in 1939, an immensely harrowing and unimaginable experience, and one served in the NZ Territorial Volunteer Navy in NZ. I am immensely proud and thankful to them both. I cannot even imagine.

Matariki! A cluster of stars that holds so much meaning for so many cultures. I remember being first introduced to them as ‘the seven sisters’ when I was about 7 - they twinkled and sparkled like nothing I’d seen before. An important and ancient constellation with many different names for the Welsh, Filipino, Hawaiian, Farsi, Chinese, Japanese, Aztec, Native American, Hindi, and of course, Māori. Happy Matariki, a time of renewal - no mistake that Bastille Day is celebrated on the same day!!!!
