Our first trip since the rebuild by Southmost Classic Ltd and the rebuilt transmission from Aarons Speed Shift Autos. We’re ready for even more new adventures!!! Our VW camper had some issues with the brake bands, so it was out of action for a bit. We took it to Southmost Classic Ltd but because it’s got an automatic transmission, finding the right parts took ages. VW specialists abroad even suggested switching to a manual….. But we didn’t give up!! We sent emails to about a hundred air-cooled VW experts and parts stores all over Europe, the US, Brazil and everywhere else. Finally, after loads of disappointment with our rare unicorn of a ride, we found the parts at Aarons Speed Shift Autos. Took some serious perseverance, but we got there in the end🦄✨ Many thanks to Wayne @waynepenrosevolkswagenptyltd for introducing Aaron to us and huge thanks to Aaron @aaronsspeedshiftautos and Duncan @smcvw. Posted @haylsa FULL ITINERARY IN CAPTION 🚌💛 DAY 1 🌸 LUPINS 🌸 these beautiful flowers bloom at the end of November/early December & best to see around Lake Tekapo and around Lake Pukaki. DAY 2-3 🏔️ Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park 🏔️ Best hikes are Sealy Tarns/Mueller Hut & Hooker Valley Trail. Book ahead and stay at Mueller hut overnight if you’re feeling adventurous. Lots of free camping spots around Lake Pukaki as well! Make sure to stop at Lake Pukaki Visitor centre for the freshest sashimi. DAY 4-5 🌿Wanaka/Mount Aspiring🌿 The Wanaka Tree is super beautiful and a great place for sunrise photos. Roy’s Peak is a popular hike with incredible views. Drive down the Haast Pass for beautiful scenery and stop at the blue pools for a short walk and a swim if you’re brave. DAY 6 ❄️ Glenorchy❄️ Absolutely stunning drive into Glenorchy. Visit the pier and enjoy the surroundings. DAY 7-8 💦Milford Sound💦 8th natural wonder of the world that comes alive in the rain. Waterfalls cascading down the mountain peaks. Take a cruise down the Fiord and book a stay at @milfordsoundlodge. DAY 9 🥾 Lake Marian 🥾 Hike to lake Marian and experience some time at the shores of an Alpine Lake. If you’re feeling adventurous, camp overnight at the top. DAY 10 🌞 Queenstown🌞 Take the Gondola up the mountain to see the best surrounding views of Queenstown! Ride the Luge at the top for some laughs. Take a drive to the Arrowtown, the most picturesque town in NZ. 🚌 CAMPERVAN HIRE🚌 Booked @queenstownkombi through @camplify!
