This gorgeous rose is blooming in my garden right now. After seeing it in a garden centre last year, I had to buy it. It almost perfectly bears my business namesake, its name being ‘Wild Eve’.

I am Wild About Eve.

I have a SMALL florist business, in that it’s just me. But I have a BIG passion for creating with flowers!

For me, it’s about designing bouquets and unique florals for people to make special connections and beautiful moments.

Always when delivering flowers, that first beautiful moment’s reaction is delight. Then, of course the second is the connection question, “who are these from?”

Knowing the message behind the flowers means I get to design thoughtfully - e.g., “oh cool these are for a birthday” or “how lovely, it’s a celebration of years together”, or “I wonder how these people are doing, grieving their lost loved one?”

Together, it’s a partnership where we are “creating special connections and beautiful moments through thoughtful florals”.

Hiya, I’ll be at the Raglan Club Market tomorrow, open from 10am onwards. I’m
sharing a stall with the lovely Jacky from Centrebush Candles Raglan. Come and say Hi to us and check out all the stalls selling locally made goods.

I’ll have some gorgeous Pressed Flower Wall pictures, a few dried flower options and some colourful fresh bunches of flowers.

Just been loving play dates with the flowers I pressed over the previous summer season. These are a few of the Wild About Eve Pressed Flower wall hangings I have made - that feel ing of special girlhood days long past.

We have a young friend from Japan. He often stops by and looks at what’s going on in my shop, and taking photos of the beautiful flowers I may have in stock that day. Yesterday he was looking at these wall hangings as I was working on them. I told him the history of this art originated with the Samurai in Japan and is called, Oshibana. He speaks great English but is still figuring some things out. I love the way he responded by translating this word, by very firmly placing one hand on his forearm, and said “hard push”, and then “bana - flowers”. Exactly! This art is the pushing hard on flowers to press them while they dry, becoming a forever ‘held in time’ piece of nature’s beauty. 💜💜

This is me!
The face and personality that is Wild About Eve.

Often if I’m wandering through a website, I want to know “who made this beautiful stuff?” Somehow the face is an important revelation seen in the created pieces. You see in the design the personality of the designer, and that makes each piece personal, unique, and individual. Sometimes, when I see who is behind the designs, I might say “of course!”, other times, “well, that’s a pleasant surprise”. But I like to know their face.

So, just so you know, this is me!

I love popping a little wild into my designs. If it has structure, or a set form, I feel the need to set it off or set it apart with something that strays wildly and rebelliously. I love texture and curls, I love asymmetrical and open designs. This is all part of my design personality.

I wonder if your response is, “of course!” or “well, that’s a surprise”? 😌

A few of my latest Designer Dried Flower designs.

1. The Hat
Oh my! I had such a gorgeous warm soul-filling week in Fiji in June. Mostly it was walking, reading books, eating and swimming, but I did get in a little bit of shopping and found these stunning sun hats which I lugged through the airport, and kept my fingers crossed as they were placed in the overhead luggage compartment on the plane. AND, this one is now ‘flowered’ and hanging cafe 😍

2. The Skull. A client gave me this petite skull and antlers after I ‘flowered’ a large one for her friend’s 50th. I love this one! Somehow it’s design just came out perfectly pretty.

3. The Wreath. This is a custom made “happy birthday to you” gift ordered, designed and delivered for a client’s special loved one. Lucky her!

4. Mini bottled dried flowers. These cuties were made for to sit on their small indoor tables. Flowers! Coffee! Pastries! Perfect!!

5. The Dried Flower Bloom Bar. Just recently we set up this flower buffet (choose your own stems) giftware store. You can design to your heart’s content by choosing your favourite dried flower stems. A great idea and heaps of creative fun.

We live and work from our home situated on the beautiful in Raglan.
He designs and builds with his tools and I design and build with mine. Often a flower delivery may arrive to you in work boots. Or you may just see me on the rare occasion on the end of a hammer. Collaboration 💜
