Kāore te kūmara e kōrero mo tōna ake reka
A kumara doesn’t go around revealing it’s sweetness

I was taught to be humble and joyful in everything I say and do to always have good intentions behind everything I’m passionate about and most of all love what I do and maangakitanga

Our first time back at market after a month of getting our food license sorted our menu was very simple and our signage a bit unorganised however we pulled it off we had bacon hock soup seafood chowder and heaps of fried bread with butter jam and golden syrup

We were sold out by 11.30 our humble gazebo definitely delivered the goods you don’t have to make a lot of kai to sell my kaupapa is to make kai that is really popular and make it well 👌👌

“I am a caterer & have been in the hospitality sector for 20+ years, establishing my own catering business in 2022 “Māorinesian Kai” 🍠🍞 you can find me every Saturday morning at our local markets located at Kuirau Park 🌴🌳

The name “Māorinesian Kai” is a mix of my Māori and Cook Island heritage combined. I specialize in both these cuisines; however, my skill set extends to all styles of cooking🥣

I love manaakitanga & making people feel good through eating my kai 😊 I choose to live in Rotorua because we have so much to offer, our Māori culture is so strong here, we have access to the most beautiful pools in the world (Polynesian Spa) & the best part is the people that make it feel good to live here & call Rotorua my home.”
