We have supplied the costumes for the billboards for Harcourts Dancing for Hospice since it first started . The costume hire is open on Fridays 11-5 and Sat 10-1.

Born and raised in West Auckland, Max has established himself as a young artist emerging in the local scene as drummer and composer alike. Having been a regular sideman and student of the pianist Jonathan Crayford since age eighteen, he has had the chance to perform alongside some of the country’s best improvisers.

While not his first time as bandleader, House of Green Branches is a new project geared toward Max’s folk-inspired compositions and arrangements. Dynamic improvised music that reflects a distinct sense of place.

Max Crook is an outstanding drummer, bandleader and composer. His music is rich in warmth, humour and integrity and is a joy to experience. - Roger Manins

😍 Miriam you are a superstar

Gratitude Rant 🖤

Most of you know we have been self-producing shows within NZ for years but more so this year as a family business and it always has its difficulties, as any job does. There’s a lot of risks with self-producing shows and selling enough tickets to break even or if you’re lucky, actually make some money, which is the biggest stress of them all!

Recently we had to cancel a show in Rotorua because we had sold 6 tickets which wouldn’t even cover the gas for a 3 hour drive. The venue completely understood and we said we hope to be back another time.

Why didn’t we sell tickets? Maybe everyone is just feeling the pinch? Is $20 too much for a 2 hour night of entertainment these days? Do people prefer staying in bed watching Matt Rife reels or Netflix?

It always breaks you down when you have to cancel shows due to low ticket sales, which normally leads to stress and tears. Especially when you’re trying to support a family and just make expenses that week.

Anywho, the venue got in contact with us and mentioned there was one particular fan that really wanted the show to come to town and was really upset we had to cancel due to the lack of interest and lack of sales. She begged us to make the trip and said she would get the room filled for us if we could put our trust in her.

Ashlee said I should make the trip, even if it’s for this one lady. She would appreciate it. So we said, WHY THE HELL NOT!

I arrived at the venue ‘Level 13 Themed Rooms’ in Rotorua last night and met this lady Miriam, who thanked me so much for coming down after originally cancelling.

As I entered the the quirky cabaret styled venue I had noticed there were people.. not 6 people.. an entirely SOLD OUT venue with standing room only 🥹

This kind hearted, live entertainment enthused lady, Miriam, had done exactly as she promised. She’d packed the room and got more people than we have ever had at the venue. Safe to say it was an absolute blast and I had some of the most fun performing in a long time, exactly what the soul needed!

This is what taking little risks is all about. We need more Miriam’s in the world supporting solo entertainers 🖤
