William La Grouw

Leadership, Academics, Sport, Cultural, School and Community Service, Performing arts

William La Grouw is an accomplished student and leader with a strong academic record and diverse achievements. He earned an NCEA Level 1 Excellence Endorsement and a Level 2 Merit Endorsement. He is currently pursuing Level 3 and is on track to endorsing with excellence.

In addition to his academic achievements, William has demonstrated significant leadership abilities. He was named Head Boy of Western Heights High School in 2024 and has held multiple captaincy roles, including for the 2021 John Paul College volleyball and ski teams, the 2021 Aquabots team, and the Western Heights High School Waikato Titration Competition team. His leadership extends beyond school, as he is a recognised achiever in the Next Gen Leadership Program.

William’s commitment to community service is equally impressive. He has been actively involved in environmental and community initiatives, including the Rena Oil Spill cleanup, entertainment for the elderly at the Government Gardens, and the restoration of the Hannah's Bay Reserve. In past years, he has also made small contributions to the Rotorua Tramping and Ski Club’s Mt. Ruapehu Lodge restoration.

In the sporting arena, William’s talent is evident through his selection for the WHHS volleyball A team in 2023 and 2024 and his participation in the Volleyball Interprovincial Championship teams. He earned a WHHS volleyball scholarship and secured a top-10 finish at the 2024 Volleyball New Zealand National Competition. Additionally, he has achieved third place in the BOP Slalom Ski Championships, representing the BOP Slalom Ski Team.

William La Grouw looks to the future with a clear goal of attending Auckland University to study Biomedical Science. He is dedicated to pursuing a career in the medical field, where he can combine his academic strengths and leadership skills to contribute to advancements in healthcare. William is excited about the opportunities ahead and is committed to making a meaningful impact in the medical community.

Jeff Flitton and Deb Rowles hail from a background in film and television (Underworld, The Bill, Avatar – to name drop just a few) bringing their skills in set design & costumes to life at the only private themed venue hire in Rotorua.

Pick and choose from or hiring the entire venue for your next big event to just picking a smaller room for your next fun intimate get together with friends, change it up every time you visit. All guests have the added option of booking a costume and a murder mystery game to compliment the event coupled with their own actor/waiter.

The rooms are bespoke, food and beverage packages are tailored to suit each client requirements.

Costume Hire FAQ

Costume hire is generally $30 to $40 plus a bond which you get back when you return your costume

There are some costumes that cost more and some less.

You can pre-book a costume up to a month in advance.

We cannot book any earlier than that as we do not have the storage for it.

We require a $10 deposit that will come off the total when you pick your costume up. If you don’t pick it up you lose your $10 deposit.

You will need photo id the first time you hire with us and then you will just need to give us your name or number for repeat bookings.

We wash the costumes because some are very delicate. Please don’t wash them as you may ruin them.

Any damages or loss will have to be paid for.
