Happy birthday to my first born 14 years old today. Time sure flys by! My girls were one of the big drives behind me starting my dahlia farm, its always been important to me being home for my girls after school and being able to take them to their after school sport ect. I hope that they also get bit by the dahlia bug 🐛. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Good news the dahlia tuber packaging has turned up earlier than expected so I'll be starting to package up orders made through the website next week .
The customers that picked the right shipping option will be sent out first, some selected the wrong shipping so this will need to be adjusted with the rural fee added before I post.

Seedling clumps are lucky dip, they a seedlings that were to beautiful to be ripped out but didn't quite make the grade as a cut flower 🌸 these won't be packaged so bring a bucket with you.

My husband's given our Roadside flower shed a adorable makeover over the last couple of weekends ❤ I'm so happy with the result.
All that's needed now in more shelving in the added on portion.
Shed will be stocked soon with dahlia tubers to purchase and not long now until the first of the ranunculus bouquets.🌸
October will be a very busy month planting out the flower field again 🌸🌸 but I'm really excited for this season. There will be opportunities to come and have a stroll around the dahlias and bubbles and bouquet workshops.
Website tuber sale will go live tomorrow evening around 6pm.

Some of the variety are limited so I've put in place a 1 tuber per order rule to a selection of them to make it as fair as possible.
I have been really conservative on the numbers of this first sale there will be more available once I've planted my field out in spring.

Yay we are so nearly there with the website ❤️ it's been an exciting achievement, but also a very frustrating one 😅 ive had to teach myself lots of new skills! There been laughs and tears trying to set this bad boy up 🤪.
I'm very proud of what we have achieved! Google hasn't registered the website yet but can be viewed through a link on this page. I still plan to go ahead a do a wee pre-sale soon but it will have to be accessed through the link not Google at this stage...I will be uploading all the dahlia varieties and postage options tomorrow, then I think we are all go! Check it out there may be something that tickles your fancy.

My husband's whipped me up a beautiful table 😍 out of Rimu and granite, he decided he wants to make my furniture for my new studio. We are aiming for a timeless look using materials that are made to last. We have decided to make a large version of this for my arranging station and to be used for up coming workshops.

There will be some beauty's in the mix! unfortunately I had a few labels 🏷 lost in the lifting process, or sometime they just get missed in the tagging process🤦♀️. If I'm not 100% sure of what a clump is it gets a misc tag I have just divided the tubers ready for sale.

New addition to the farm this season 🌼 after saving hard over the last flower seasons 🌱 we have purchased a old weather board shed with good bones from our neighbors that we will transform into a new flower studio 😍 I'm beyond excited to have a space to create! In past seasons I've taken over the kitchen and dinning which has worked but has been far from ideal or efficient.
My vision is a classic look for this beauty of white weather boards with a soft olive green roof, Ice berg roses climbing the new front porch, french doors, wrap around deck, red brick planters, pops of mauve roses, next to a new olive and lavender Grove 😍.
Currently the digger has been here last week digging and back filling the pad ready for concrete, once this is done when can get the shed moved, a dream come true!
Watch this space it will be alot of hard slugger stripping everything back and giving this girl a birthday 🎂 🥳 I'm told this was an old school building in the motueka Valley...I love learning the history of old things so I dying to get more information and hopefully some old pictures.
I'm relieved to say the dahlias are all dug divided and put away 🌱 this is a huge task for one person...😅 I've just been reminded we are nearly mid winter already 😆 won't be long until I'm planting again!
Next week will be clearing the last of the weeds, adding a layer of compost then a layer of peastraw.
I currently have someone working on a new website which is very exciting! Once up and running I'll do a proper count and do a tuber pre- sale aiming to post out early spring. 🌱
Today my hubby has been doing more work on my green house 🏠 stripping back all the old windows ready for painting 💜 the bonus of having a husband that's a painter decorator. The window frames are going white with the sill a in sugar loaf which is a pastel 50s green 😁.
I hope everyone got to spend sometime in the garden this weekend soaking up some vitamin D.

Some of my favourite Aporo Road first year seedlings 🌱 apart from the big beautiful white blooms thats in its second year. These beauty's will be getting a second year, a little weather beaten but I've still brought them in to admire 🌸. Which one is everyone's favorite 😍 Mines the soft pink bloom with the butter cream centre for sure! 💝.
How does everyone start their day? I like to make a coffee then have a walk around the seedling 🌱 patch with my puppy Molly 🐶 to see what new treasures mother nature has created for me ❤️ it's hard to believe the seed parent of this seedling 🌱 was a red and white ball dahlia.
