Waikato Regional Theatre – Time-Lapse Photography

These photos, taken during April over the past three years, showcase the ongoing transformation of the Waikato Regional Theatre site in Hamilton.

They're just a glimpse of the 62,000+ images captured so far for a comprehensive time-lapse video, documenting the journey from demolition to completion of this distinctive Jasmax-designed venue.

The project is now in its final stages, with completion expected August 2025. It’s shaping up to be an extraordinary building, thanks to the efforts of the Foster Group team.

This is one of 15 long-term time-lapse projects we’ve completed for commercial construction builds across Tauranga, Hamilton, Cambridge, and Palmerston North. These projects can span anywhere from 9 months to over 3 years.

Our work relies on solar-powered, state-of-the-art time-lapse camera units that upload images in real time via cellular network, allowing stakeholders to view progress instantly through a secure web portal.

Recent work for Serge Ferrari

I was fortunate to be selected by French photo agency to photograph Andrew Lingman, the GM of Baytex Manufacturing Ltd, for – the French textile manufacturer – to celebrate their 50 years in business!

This isn’t my first assignment for Baytex, there been several over the years—back in 2011, I had the privilege of photographing the then-director, Wendy Tankard, for Specialty Fabric Review magazine, highlighting her efforts to bring women apprentices into the business.

Excited to reflect on these long-lasting industry relationships and to continue celebrating the legacy of Baytex and Serge Ferrari!

Tauriko Development 2007 till today

It’s amazing to see how much Tauranga has grown.

I recently had the opportunity to capture some aerial photographs of Tauranga City. These two images—one from March 2007 and the other from today—show the development change over 18 years.

Over the years, I’ve taken many aerial photographs of Tauriko, including The Crossing and surrounding commercial projects, but this particular aerial view is one I haven’t replicated until now.

I’m pleased to announce my new studio space is now up and running on Tenth Avenue.

After 20 years at the Mount, it was time to find a more central location with first-rate facilities to produce high quality images for my clients.

The 108m² studio is divided into two spaces – one large white studio with a 5m-wide cyclorama (coved) background which is ideal for photographing groups of people or larger items. It provides a seamless backdrop and has a 4m high raked ceiling with good natural light.

This studio also has a new kitchenette for food photography, and all the necessary facilities for food prep and styling to make shoots as easy and enjoyable as possible.

The secondary space is a still life studio and workspace with a square walled studio with exposed concrete floors. This is a alternative background if you want people or products to look as though they’re in a home or office environment.

You’ll find my new studio at 58a Tenth Avenue opposite the Warehouse (between Cameron Rd and St John St) there’s plenty of parking right outside the front door.
