The Chilean corn pie ("Pastel de Choclo") is a traditional and hearty dish from Chile, perfect for those who enjoy a blend of savory and sweet flavors. It features a base of ground beef, chicken, hard-boiled egg, onions and olives. This savory filling is then covered with a creamy layer of sweet corn π½ blended with basil for added freshness πΏ The dish is baked until the corn topping is golden and slightly caramelized, creating a delightful contrast between the sweet, crispy top and the savory, tender filling π€€
The Chilean Empanada de Pino π₯ is a traditional baked pastry filled with a savory mixture of ground beef, onions, hard-boiled egg and olives. The dough is typically made from wheat flour, and the filling is seasoned with cumin and paprika, giving it a distinct, mildly spiced flavor. The combination of sweet and salty ingredients creates a unique taste that is popular in Chile, especially during our national holidays as we celebrate in the The empanada is hand-folded into a half-moon shape π₯ and baked until golden and crispy on the outside, while the inside remains soft and flavorful.
