• What’s your ultimate top tip for planning the perfect wedding day?
The scope for what you can include in your wedding day is almost endless! Sit down with your partner early on and discuss which aspects of the wedding day mean the most to you both. We came up with a list of 5 and then prioritised our time/effort/spend on these as we knew they would make our day that much more special.

• Any advice specifically for brides planning a marquee wedding?
The Twelve Tables team do a fantastic job at helping plan out options for marquee layout - they know their stuff so my tip is to make the most of this!

• And lastly, what moment from your wedding day stands out as your absolute favourite?
It's hard to narrow down to just one but the dance party at the end with all our family and friends really topped off what was the very best day.

• What was your entrance & first dance song?
Our entrance song was "A Good Night" by John Legend & BloodPop, and our first dance song was "You’re Still the One" by Teddy Swims.

• What’s your ultimate top tip for planning the perfect wedding day?
Hire vendors who are true experts! Read and trust those with lots of 5-star reviews. They will make all the preparations leading up to your day as smooth as possible and will be able to give you guidance on things as a bride-to-be that you may not have thought of. Don’t skimp on a day-of coordinator! I couldn’t imagine having to run around on the day of my wedding to organise all the small and big amazing things our coordinator took care of. It meant we were all as relaxed as we could possibly be, knowing everything was in their expert care.

• Any advice specifically for brides planning a marquee wedding?
Know your venue layout. There are small things like services (e.g., kitchen areas and toilets) that you will likely want to hide, and knowing the orientation and layout of your venue to ensure the marquee landscape looks beautiful is key! Utilize elements already on-site. We had an amazing Banana Palm that we featured near our dancefloor – it was stunning! Also, consider the weather and potentially increase the marquee size, as it’s crucial to have a backup plan for rain!

• And lastly, what moment from your wedding day stands out as your absolute favourite?
Seeing all the people we love together, witnessing everyone interacting with each other among all the different families, and just enjoying how happy everyone was to be celebrating love! It’s such a special day and something we will never forget.

• What’s your ultimate top tip for planning the perfect wedding day?
Get all the help you can. Spread the load

• Any advice specifically for brides planning a marquee wedding?
One piece of advice would be to consider all possible weather events and have plans for all of them inside/outside the marquee so that you can have peace of mind that no matter what the weather, your marquee will be perfect and prepared on the day.

• And lastly, what moment from your wedding day stands out as your absolute favourite?
My favourite moment was when I looked out from the bridal table over all our wedding guests—chatting, laughing, and hanging out—and knew that all our favourite people were in this one room, on this one day, to celebrate us.

A few tips from Sophie, a past Twelve Tables bride 🤍

• What was your entrance and first dance song ? Entrance song: "How Will I Know" by Sam Smith. First Dance: "Thinkin’ about love" by Wild Rivers.

• What’s your ultimate top tip for planning the perfect wedding day? In terms of planning, put trust in your vendors. They are experts in their industry and their job, so listen to their advice and be open to creative input because it only adds to your day.

• Any advice specifically for brides planning a marquee wedding? Oh, I have a couple! Have spatial awareness; make sure you have enough room for dining & dancing. Think about the bar placement so it works for both dining and dancing too. Pay for premium flooring. Nothing's worse than having guests on uneven flooring while dancing.

• And lastly, what moment from your wedding day stands out as your absolute favorite? I loved our dance floor area—a 10x10 space with the band, a huge 5m bar, espresso martinis, white wooden flooring, and fairy lights. The ultimate party experience for us and our guests, and we danced until 3 am. Enjoy all the beautiful moments throughout your day; it goes so quickly.
