So today i am in Kawerau, setting up for a 3 week “changing lanes” empowerment program , not quite Thailand, no cocktails, no laying by the pool and definitely no shopping, but still an exciting adventure and creating changes in our women. There’s strength in numbers, and when women stand together, we can change our worlds and the world.

I am going to self congratulate myself and that involves nothing rude 😂 just got my 2024 registration approved for my 16th year of being a celebrant! What celebrations or events are you looking forward to in the coming year? I have married “All Blacks”, I have kayaked out to an isolated island for an elopement, I have married a couple on White Island, have done ceremonies on boats, in churches, on beaches, in rivers with eels nibbling my toes, on top of Mauao, have been flown in by helicopter, speed boat, tractor, and even horse back thus bringing adventure and a sense of challenge to wedding ceremonies which adds a distinctive touch, making each celebration truly one-of-a-kind. It also creates lasting memories for the couples I marry. Booking now 2024/2025 and to infinity and beyond. Www.jackiebrowncelebrant.co.nz

Two weddings in one day! I usually have a rule to only ever do one wedding in a day But this morning I had a Lovely couple in their late 60”s early 70’s come around home with just their close family and get married in our garden! Can’t show you a photo because it was an elopement and not sure if they’ve told the rest of the family, But just to say our dog joined in the celebration and sang along to the music!

As a wedding celebrant I have done some unusual weddings, I have married couples on for whakari Island (White Island), married couples on beaches, clifftops, gardens and once ankle deep in a river surrounded by eels, but yesterday”s wedding took it to new heights,. Together with the bride and groom and the two witnesses, we paddle boarded and kayaked out 1/2 km to Motuotau/rabbit Island offshore from Mount Maunganui. We all arrived dry and Slipped from wetsuits to wedding clothes -It was the most beautiful celebration. Coming back I almost made it to the beach until a huge wave overturned my kayak, and I was found swimming crazily after my dry bag, losing my sunglasses but keeping my pride As I battled the surf.
As we departed the beach, the witnesses had organised a singer/guitarist to be playing for the newlywed couple.
Although I looked like a drowned rat, it was one of the most memorable of the 500 + weddings that I have facilitated.

I have been very remiss in not keeping up with this page, have had a few winter weddings, and the summer ahead is looking good.

Tomorrow (Friday) will be a brand new experience for me as a celebrant. I am paddling over to Motuotau Island (Rabbit island) at the Mount to facilitate the wedding of 2 beautiful souls who are eloping. I haven't paddle boarded or kayaked since last summer so I hope my arms don't give out, or worse, fall in, doesn't look classy with your celebrant having mascara running down her cheeks.
Going to add some "bling" to my wetsuit.

As you all have now realised last nights TV interview on the Project about surgery overseas will be aired next week, apparently it is due to be on NEXT Wednesday.

Simply put, being a celebrant is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. Every single wedding day of work is a celebration of love, commitment and life. Whether I am conducting a ceremony, or putting in the hard work to prepare for one, there won’t be a day gone by where i don’t feel fulfilled and happy about the role of being a wedding celebrant.

A fabulous boho wedding yesterday at pukehina beach, for the wonderful Kate and Mark Daly. We first met Mark when he first came over from Northern Ireland over 5 years ago so it was a real honour to be asked to be their Celebrant. It was fun, casual and very relaxed just how weddings should be . Check out my sparkly trousers, Think I will become the rhinestone Celebrant, I bought them in the states and they’ve become a little bit of a talking point as all the diamantés caught the spectacular sunshine we had on Saturday!

Again managed to stay out of the rain, so Steve gots some wonderful images of Louise

This image of our beautiful bride Louise was shot at the historic Athenree Homestead gardens. Rain very seldom stays constant all day so we took the opportunity to capture this photo on the way to be with Mitchel at the ceremony.

I just love doing weddings, this particular wedding at The Elms Te Papa Tauranga was just prior to Christmas and the couple had travelled all the way from London, along with friends and family. Thankfully the rain stayed away just 5 hours, enough time for the ceremony and Steve's photo shoot with them.

As you know, a knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie – therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel! We had plenty of rain at Kyra and will’s wedding on Saturday at the Quarry park, Te Puna so as their celebrant I believe their marriage should never ever unravel.

LET'S BREAK DOWN WEDDING DATE OPTIONS IN 2022
"The most important advice: there are 'only good days!"

Considering wedding dates is exciting. If you’re thinking about a good time to say I do in 2022, I am here to help! I’ve considered each and every date, and have strong recommendations, plus ideas to make every month the perfect time to marry in 2022.

Before selecting a favorite date, you’ll need to find your venue and be ready can lock in your special day as event locations book on a first-come, first-served basis.

When friends get engaged, we’re all ready to shout congratulations and immediately ask: “what’s the date?” because it’s the most important aspect for guests. Instead; remember the critical decision for the wedding arranger – you – is the location. All other wedding options like guest count, vendors, accommodation, and more, stem from your venue choice.

For every bride that books with me as their celebrant, get a 80 page wedding planning book which contains everything from, questions to ask venues, photographers, caterer etc., to the type of dress that suites your figure, to check list and lots and lots of event planning ideas. Remember I was teaching event management for years and years so this book is full to every angle of a wedding that I could think of.

Early this morning I had a call from a producer at Magic talkback radio FM asking me about the tours to Thailand, It seems that yesterday they had been having a talk back session about the astronomic dental prices within New Zealand and comparing it to Asia. So 10.30am this morning I was rung back and was interviewed about Bums Tums and Gums. Got amazing feedback, can’t wait until it all opens up, Thailand doing it so hard, they’ve closed all the malls, markets and the restaurants, only take aways allowed, The locals had it hard enough without Covid but now it must be awful as they have no social welfare, my heart goes out to them.
