In 1923, Harry Highet the original designer of the the first seven-foot p-class boat, moved to Tauranga with his plans and boat named 'Roselle'. This design proved to be so popular that within just a couple of years it became known as the "Tauranga Class" of racing.

To celebrate the centenary of this class, Coombes Johnston BMW has joined the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club - TYPBC as sponsor of the P-Class Nationals this January 3rd - 9th, 2024. We are very excited to support the running of the 2 remaining Tauranga and Tanner Cups.

The Yacht Club is on the hunt for a Casual Bartender.

This role is to help assist the Duty Manager on the Bar for Functions and Club events that the bar is required. It is a role that is best suitable for Polytech or Year 12-13 Students.
It is a Casual position mainly nights and weekend work just for someone who is wanting to make some extra money.

We still have lots of space for the dinner on Saturday night. We have some amazing auctions up for grabs, a round of golf with Tim Mikkleson and Stephen Donald aka Beaver. We have a singlet and a jacket signed by Kasey Kopua ex captain of the NZ Silver Ferns, a NZ woman's 7s jersey signed and other items.

We are holding a quiz night to help raise funds to support Jacob West and his family while he is undergoing treatment for rare brain tumours, Gliomatosis Cerebri.
In 2015, Jacob was diagnosed with Gliomatosis Cerebri at 16 years of age while attending Tauranga Boys College. This crippling disease took away his ability to continue to row and run competitively. Since then, he has bravely undergone multiple cancer treatments including chemotherapy. Jacob has demonstrated admirable strength, maturity and resilience throughout his diagnosis and treatment. Recently it was discovered that Jacob’s tumours have grown again, and he will now undergo intravenous chemotherapy and an unfunded treatment called Avastin, with the aim to stop any more growth and to give Jacob the chance to regain some strength, energy, and a chance at a normal life.
Funds raised aim to support access to the best medical treatments for Jacob.
Please support this deserving young man fight a disease no one deserves to have.

Hello level 2! We are super excited to be back in action from tomorrow onwards, following the level 2 guidelines. We are saying a big goodbye to our Chef Aidan as he ventures on to new beginnings, and we welcome our new Chef Rami. Thank you to everyone who have rebooked, we cant wait to see you all 🥰
