Our history ...

For the past 70 years the Te Aroha Dramatic Society has been providing the Te Aroha community with quality live theatre. We produce a variety of theatre productions each year by New Zealand and international playwrights and aim to both entertain and educate our supporters.

The Theatre is now an established local landmark where members of the community can come together. It provides an excellent venue for use by other groups and also offers an excellent costume hire service.

The Society receives good support from the community and provides an opportunity for people of all ages and walks of life to become involved with all aspects of theatre production; from acting through to backstage, lighting and advertising. If you’re keen to get involved we’d love to see you. We meet at the theatre at 10am every Tuesday morning for a few hours to do what’s needed, have a coffee and a good old fashioned laugh.
