Answers to the questions we often get asked 🧡

Q. Do you do all occasion flowers?
A. Yes 100%, give us a call or a message via text or socials and we can get your orders sorted. 0274722420. We offer a range of options from hand tied bouquets to boxed arrangements that are easy to take as gifts 🎁 you can collect from the flower farm or we offer delivery within Te Awamutu.

Q. Do you do funeral flowers?
A. Yes, we offer casket sprays, wreaths and arrangements. 24 hours noticed required ♥️

Q. Do you do Weddings?
A. Yes, we have recently won an award as “The most trusted wedding florist in the North Island” touch base on our socials, website or over the phone and we can arrange to sit down or chat online which ever suits each individual bride.

Q. Do you travel for Weddings?
A. Yes, we do floral design for weddings all over the central North Island.

Q. Do you offer workshops?
A. Yes, workshops are a favourite of ours as it’s always lots of good banter with like minded people. Ask to be added to our list to be notified first for future workshops.

Q. I want to order flowers but have no idea what to order. How do I do it?
A. Unless you are after specific flowers or a specific colour palette we sort it all out our end working with what flowers are looking their absolute best at the time. It’s super easy 😉 you just let us know how much you wish to spend and we do the rest.

Q. Can I buy your flowers pre-made anywhere?
A. Yes, you can find small bunches available as grab and go from Serenda Espresso week days on Albert Park Drive.

Q. Do you do DIY buckets?
A. Yes we can offer these on request, 24 hours noticed is required.

Q. Why do we see some flowers on the farm photos but never in your bouquets?
A. We grow our flowers not only for our use but to supply wholesale flowers to florists. Different florists have different styles so we grow some crops specifically for our florists.

Q. Do you offer ”pick your own”
A. No we don’t sorry, our flowers need to be cut a specific way to get the best out of our plants and ensure top quality blooms for our wholesale florists and customers.

Q. Do you sell your dahlia tubers? Seeds or plants?
A. Yes, spring we have many of the above available. Flick us a message if you are after something and haven’t seen it advertised. We ship these Nationwide

Q. Why don’t we see lots of photos of the flowers and farm on your socials?
A. 🙈 Because I love flowers, not social media😅 I’m terrible at documenting what we get up to so am always very grateful when people send me photos of their flowers for me to post☺️

The “green thumb” rest assured it is a myth😅
Anyone can learn to get their hands in the soil and grow beautiful healthy plants 🌱

Yesterday I was chatting with one of my young boys about growing a vege garden and I mentioned to him that we need to “sow the seeds” he looked and me and to my surprise said “do we need a needle 🪡 “🙈 this is a kid who sees his mum sow seeds by the hundreds often thousands every few weeks!

This certainly got me thinking and made me reflect on where my gardening journey started myself. So I’m excited to tell you all that our next workshop is going to be…
“The basics of gardening”

If your interest in gardening is only just starting and you have no idea where to start, then this is for you. We will be covering all the basics so that this summer you can have a thriving garden regardless if it’s in a small outdoor space, a vege patch or even growing flowers or veges in pots. Regardless of your space you can certainly experience the benefits of getting your hands in the soil.

Cutest story 🧡🥹

This morning my three year old son asked if we could have pancakes for breakfast 🥞 as I just couldn’t be bothered I said to him “sorry mate we don’t have any flour” 🙈

Later in the morning we headed out to the shed so I could prep the flowers for todays event and bursting with excitement my little man says “Look mum! We do have flowers! We can have pancakes”

Flowers must be in the blood 🩸
Over the winter months we made the big decision to extend the flower farm 🥴😅 Definitely on the fence with nerves for the extra work and excitement for the extra flowers 😅 so today we got stuck into the beds and finalised the size. New area means an extra 1200 plants which is a lot and potentially another 800 if my young boys decide to move their bruder pit.
Arrived home from after school activities to find hubby had decided to go a touch bigger again🙈🙈😳😅
Hope everyone loves flowers cause I’m going to have ALOT!!
Sitting here tonight thinking about it all a little anxious as my hand shakes drinking my wine thinking of all the work ahead of me and I think about a photo I saw last night, many of you will know my nana who the business is named after was a florist but something you don’t know is that flower farming is actually in my hubby’s family. My father in law is Dutch and his family grew tulips along with other flowers, below is a photo he was showing me last night from when he was young selling flowers on the roadside out of the VW.
How neat is that!

Love seeing posts and photos like these.
After our workshop on the weekend one of our guests potted up her seeds straight away the more traditional way while another guest sent me these great shots of her seeds germinated with the paper towel method ready for potting up. Only two days to germinate and 100% germination 👌🥹💛👏

Such a great day yesterday hosting our two Dahlia workshops. 💛
I am always so delighted to meet our workshop guests and build new friendships with like minded individuals, we had fellow flower farmers, florists, photographers, home gardeners and those brand new to gardening it was such a great mix of people.
Our dahlia workshops cover everything from the anatomy of dahlia tubers, information on dig or no dig, storing, dividing that intimidating clump! Plant health and pest control right through to planting and the benefits of seeds, cuttings, and pre sprouting.
If anyone would love to attend one of our many workshops please flick us a message and we can keep you in the loop.
We offer a huge range of workshops throughout the year to suit gardeners through to creatives.
Also we still have some tubers available this season as well as some amazing seeds 🧡

Looking through my photos to find a recent flower field photo and realised I don’t have one😢

Best I could find was this which is a very old photo hubby took for me before we extended the field. Hard to believe we are coming into our second season of been double this size 🌱

Definitely excited to get a fresh snap done this year in Summer when all the flowers are in bloom 👌

Not long now and the field will be flowing with spring flowers

The dahlia tubers we advertised yesterday have been a massive hit and sold out very quickly, apologies to those who missed out but rest assured we will have plenty more available in spring 💛

If you managed to get your hands on a clump I suggest giving it a hose off and resting it upside down to ensure no water is in the stem then once dry place in a cool place to sleep for the winter.

Spring we will be doing a Dahlia workshop teaching you the tips and tricks to dividing your dahlias as they wake up for the growing season, along with advice on how to get the best out of your dahlias in your home garden.

Monday night I headed out to Cambridge to watch the grassroots documentary
Through my flower farming journey I have listened to many podcasts, read many many many books and heard to all these words like “organic” “regenerative” but never taken much of it in.
In all honesty with a lot of what iv read iv done the opposite and just gone with instincts and what feels “right” figuring I’ll test my theory and go from there😅
Watching this documentary was very eye opening on the importance of regenerative farming for the future of our planet, children and something I think everyone should look into. Although it was a great feeling after watching it to know that I will continue to do what I do, I guess it gave me encouragement that maybe Iv been channelling some inner wisdom from my nana who grew veges and flowers with love in her home garden, through following my instincts I’ve actually found my path in regenerative farming. Working from the heart, tending to the land feels just right. 🌱💚 thanks for the lovely night

As a husband and wife team, we pour our hearts into every bloom, I can’t thank my amazing husband enough for his dedication in keeping our flower field looking absolutely stunning.
While you will find him keeping it all looking the part I’m in the background making a mess while I am busy sowing seeds, planting seedlings and flipping beds to ensure we have flowers for every season.
When it comes to harvesting it’s all about cutting and conditioning to ensure top-notch quality flowers for our wholesale florists and also for your special occasions when you choose us to work with on those special life events.

I appreciate the beautiful feedback I receive from each of the brides I work with 🥹
Rosanna was so much fun to work with and when we arrived on site to set up the flowers myself and my team were blown away, as this wedding just oozed both elegance and party vibes all in one.
