THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT โค๏ธ

my brain and
heart divorced

a decade ago

over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become

eventually,
they couldn't be
in the same room
with each other

now my head and heart
share custody of me

I stay with my brain
during the week

and my heart
gets me on weekends

they never speak to one another
- instead, they give me
- the same note to pass
- to each other every week
and their notes they
send to one another always
says the same thing:

"This is all your fault"

on Sundays
my heart complains
about how my
head has let me down
in the past

and on Wednesday
my head lists all
of the times my
heart has screwed
things up for me
in the future

they blame each
other for the
state of my life

there's been a lot
of yelling - and crying

so,

lately, I've been
spending a lot of
time with my gut
who serves as my
unofficial therapist

most nights, I sneak out of the
window in my ribcage

and slide down my spine
and collapse on my
gut's plush leather chair
that's always open for me

~ and I just sit sit sit sit
until the sun comes up

last evening,
my gut asked me
if I was having a hard
time being caught
between my heart
and my head

I nodded

I said I didn't know
if I could live with
either of them anymore

"my heart is always sad about
something that happened yesterday
while my head is always worried
about something that may happen tomorrow,"
I lamented

my gut squeezed my hand

"I just can't live with
my mistakes of the past
or my anxiety about the future,"
I sighed

my gut smiled and said:

"in that case,
you should
go stay with your
lungs for a while,"

I was confused
- the look on my face gave it away
"if you are exhausted about
your heart's obsession with
the fixed past and your mind's focus
on the uncertain future

your lungs are the perfect place for you

there is no yesterday in your lungs
there is no tomorrow there either

there is only now
there is only inhale
there is only exhale
there is only this moment

there is only breath

and in that breath
you can rest while your
heart and head work
their relationship out."

this morning,
while my brain
was busy reading
tea leaves

and while my
heart was staring
at old photographs

I packed a little
bag and walked
to the door of
my lungs

before I could even knock
she opened the door
with a smile and as
a gust of air embraced me
she said

"what took you so long?"

Well hello there, ๐Ÿ‘‹yes it's been a while, but from now on you'll definitely be seeing more of me.
In my last post I mentioned my lifestyle was slowly changing and it has!
My next phase in life has begun woo hoo!๐Ÿ˜
I'm now semi retired (although I'm along way off that age yet)๐Ÿ˜‚ and am fully focusing on my Celebrancy yay!
I will be doing more social media (fb) and now Instagram. Also some good old fashioned canvassing to get my name out there. But like many things in this world today nothing works better than "word of mouth". So please help me in this journey by liking & sharing my page.
Being a Celebrant is an honour and a privilege ๐Ÿ˜Œ
Not only do I get to write things from the heart, but I also get to meet/ spend with amazing people ๐Ÿ’–
Whether it helping/planning their celebration of love & marriage ๐Ÿ’‘or a celebration of a life that once was.
Making & sharing memorable moments with family & friends writing โœeach there own unique story. But at the end of the day both Weddings and Funerals have two things in common......love & memories.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
See you soon๐Ÿ˜

As you can see I'm not big on posting on fb. I know this is my go to page for those wanting a Celebrant for a beautiful wedding or a heartfelt funeral. So.... my apologies for this but, my lifestyle is slowly changing and now I'm going to be more committed to posting something weekly. Yay! Anout time right!
Last November I had the opportunity to do 2 weddings in one weekend! Phew! Yes I have done more but that's for another day.
The first was a lovely relaxed wedding at home with Colin & Jean. As it was second time around for both (both widowers) they wanted a no frills, relaxed, family orientated wedding. Colin came up to me at the end of the service and couldn't thank me enough, as what I had said in the ceremony was very much them to a "T".
The second wedding was at the "Hall Venue" near Waharoa. This venue is amazing!! It caters for all seasons. It's simple, rustic, and a truely beautiful place to be married in. Rebekah & Cole are the most awesome couple. They chose a venue that was so them. The love that they have for each other is so deep and emotional it even had some of the guests in tears. As I said " this is true love" Rebekah was absolutely stunning, and Cole was so handsome too. Here are some photos of their " memorable moments "

Hello again, yes it's been a long time since I've put anything on this page, for that I apologize.

Last year was a challenging year for everyone with this jolly covid pandemic. It was even harder for all of the future brides & grooms, not knowing if their special day would go ahead or having to change/ reschedule everything & everybody to make it happen.
Fast forward to 2021 the year that is to be....
Yes the pandemic is still here hanging over our heads, but remember we are the luckiest & safest country in the world as far Mr Covid goes.
So to all you brides & grooms to be,
keep calm, keep planning those wedding dreams of yours because they will happen and you will look stunning and have the best day ever. Making memorable moments together
