Had to share this gorgeous photo by The Wildstyler capturing a mother and daughter moment at her awesome wedding. 📸💗
🤍I’m not your traditional photographer by any means, in fact, I kind of just fell into this path due to my love for colour, composition, catching real moments and trusting my eye for detail. I’m not sure if you could say I have a particular style? Maybe? I like realness. I like to try and capture people’s energies, their essence, their soul, I guess. I like all the things that make you, well, you - to be shown in your photo. I remember back when I had my first school ball. Mum decided it would be nice to get some professional photos done of me in my getup. Let’s just note that I was painfully shy. So this whole process was uncomfortable anyway. The photographer was nice enough but I was never made to feel at ease, more like a burden who couldn’t hold herself in the contorted ways I was asked to, “just bend that leg that way, keep the other straight, arm across your body, left leg green, right hand yellow, and open your mouth slightly”. Not gonna lie, that… and the photos (omg the photos 🤣), put me off photographers until my wedding! I look at the photo now and I don’t know that person, it’s like all the insecure parts of myself were amplified and preserved for all eternity in her photo. I think I’ll go more into all this in a blog!
Anyways, as for me, I’d be no good photographing inside a studio with highly staged props and false lighting. I do love the kooky, juxtaposition, staged photoshoots I do, but there’s that level of creative freedom there that I was talking about earlier. I feel like my brain would temporarily shut down if I had to work within strict guidelines, so I’ll leave that to the pro’s. Get me outdoors and sneaking moments like this one… the bond, the love, the connection, the joy, between a mother and daughter, I’m always up for that! 😍 (plus those bouquets look pretty sweet 😎💅🏻🤣).
A huge thank you to Pip (and Ella here) for allowing me to use these photos of your special day at The Winemaker's Daughter🤍
