★★★★★ "Judy was an excellent celebrant, easy going, listened to our requirements and easy to work with. Guided us through the whole process and made the day fun and relaxed. Even after the event followed up with BDM when our certificate did not arrive. Would highly recommend."

I just have to say the Wedding cake made by your Mum & decorated by your Sister was superb. It's not often I get a sample, so thank you.

Finding the right marriage celebrant who will make your ceremony meaningful and memorable is so important. So how do you find the right one?

- Do your homework.
- Create a list of potential celebrants: suss out names from friends. Google search wedding celebrants in your region. Check out venue websites which often have a recommended vendors list including celebrants.
- Check a celebrant out on social media and their website.
- Do they have an excellent backstory and really good, current photos and testimonials
- Know what style of your ceremony you’re keen on.
- Be clear on what’s important to both of you.
- Contact each celebrant, check out their availability for your date/time and their fee. If their fee is beyond your budget, ask if they have another option. If not, politely let them know and move to the next on your list.
- Have questions ready to ask.
- You are not obliged to commit to a celebrant during your enquiry. Do ask for a quote.
- Ask yourselves ‘did we feel a good connection, did this celebrant ‘get us’?

The right celebrant will get to know you and your partner. They will take the time to listen to you and make suggestions that suit your ceremony style. Finally and most importantly, they will personalise your marriage ceremony, so it fulfils all of your wishes. So how do you find the right celebrant for your ceremony?

My Journey so far

I was born in London, UK. I trained as a Medical Laboratory Scientist and in 1999 I emigrated to NZ as I had fallen in love with the country and its approach to life.

In 2015 a friend asked my to be the celebrant for her wedding and so my path to being a celebrant started.

Since then I have conducted weddings, and commenced training in Celebrant studies. I am a member of the Celebrants Association of New Zealand (CANZ).

I love hearing peoples stories and helping them create a ceremony to reflect their lives and enable them to celebrate in their style.
