Taste of Waikato | We were delighted to recently welcome the Edmonds Marshall lawyer group to The Red Barn, where our award-winning Head Chef - Harry Williams - crafted an exclusive Taste of Waikato menu that highlighted the finest local flavours, paired with specially selected wines. Today marks our last wedding of the season, and what an incredible 10 months it has been!

Thanks to the recent renovations to our venue, which include improved insulation and heating, this has been our longest season yet.

We are thrilled to have created so many wonderful memories for our couples and their guests, and wish them all the best as they enjoy their first year of married life.

Bridgette’s Notes | As the wedding season draws to a close, I reflect on what has been our longest season yet, thanks to the recent renovations to our venue. These changes have allowed us to extend the celebrations into the autumn and winter months, with improved insulation and heating ensuring comfort and warmth for every event.

Today, I spent the morning reading testimonials from this season’s couples and looking through recent wedding photos. It’s incredibly humbling to see such kind words paired with beautiful images that celebrate my family’s property, serving as the backdrop for their special day.

It has also been a highlight seeing our seasonal menus become a hit throughout the season. This success makes me incredibly proud of our chef team and their dedication to culinary excellence.

Now, as weddings and events slow, it’s time for our team to kick into planning action for the upcoming ones.

The Cottonwood Effect

The only place in the Waikato that you'll find 'snow' in December ❄️ The white and fluffy 'snow' consists of cotton from these magnificent 50 year-old cottonwood trees that line our driveway. This means our December couples can get those dreamy snowy wedding photos, while still enjoying the warm weather - A win win if you ask us! 😉

In June this year, The Red Barn made the decision to be powered by Solar. We installed solar panels to generate our own clean sustainable energy. We wanted to do our part to reduce carbon emissions and felt it was our corporate responsibility to do so. This lead us to break new sustainability ground and convert The Red Barn’s surrounding 500 acre dairy farm into a solar powered operation ⚡️
