We're back! Gosh it's been a roller coaster since our last post but through the twists and turns, we've had an opportunity to reflect.
Tangled Sprout Flowers was our way, Pippa, William and I, of bringing joy to ourselves, each other and you. We wanted to share our piece of paradise and have fun in the process.

The last couple of seasons were tricky for lots of reasons and we've really thought hard about what we want to do and what we're able to do as all of our lives get busier.

We are excited to say that we are growing, that there will be flowers available but also that we know our limits 🌸 we are growing summer flowers with lots of vege thrown in and we can't wait to share them with you.

It'll be slower, there'll be a few less but there will be love and joy in every stem. Thank you for sticking with us.

So it may come as no surprise to those of you that support us, but this season has really kicked my butt! I'm sat here dry and warm and feeling very thankful for that but it's it how I'd anticipated spending the night before Valentine's Day.
We've really tried to push through but I'm going to have to call it, we're done 🌸
At this stage we have baby plants in the ground, we've cut back our beautiful dahlias and we're just going to have to see what nature has in store for us in the coming months.
We thank you all for supporting us through the ups and the downs ❤️🌸
Take care of yourself and those around you 🌬️

To all of our lovely flower friends, I'm sure you'll join us in saying, what a weird summer we've had so far?! No truer is that for us than in our growing space. We've decided to cull much of what is out in the field and effectively restart our season. What that means is that we will have limited flower availability for the next month to 6 weeks.
Flowers will continue to be available at the Platterboard each week and any excess will be added to our stand at the gate. We'll let you know here when that happens.
Please join us in wishing our new babies luck and we hope to be sharing the abundance with you all again soon 🌸🤞

To my lovely flower friends 🌸 this morning really kicked our butt, new school, new job and we just didn't make it to drop off flowers at The Platter Board today. The plan is for tomorrow, Friday.
Sorry to those if you who but each week.

From soaking to dry, the plants have had so much to deal with so far this season and they still reward us with these beauties 🌸
I love how the flowers change through the season and these bunches have some newbies like achilliea and roccoco dahlias. I'm also stoked to be able to include a few David Austin roses. Keeping them from Amber 🐴 has been quite the mission 🤣
We hope you continue to enjoy them. They are at the Platterboard on Rosemont Road Waihī now 🌸

The kids and I are easily distracted and rather than clean up our flower room we've saved some blooms from the wind and popped them out on the stand at the gate 🌸
I'm not sure what this cyclone has in store for us but we're off out after lunch to tie everything in. Fingers crossed 🤞❤️🌸

Wandering through the flower field this morning there are lots of casualties from the wind and rain. We grow our flowers between our fruit trees which provides some protection but today I'll be clearing and replanting some of our beds.
Our persimmon tree has split in two and there are more plums and peaches on the ground than on the trees but the dahlias continue to bloom brightly and abundantly.
We've popped a couple of $20 bunches out on the stand this morning, it'll be limited for a few days but we hope to be picking buckets again next week, will keep you posted 🌸

This is my kitchen table bunch ❤️

Happy New Year flower friends 🌸
We'll be taking a quick break for the start of this week so we've cut and wrapped some simple bunches. Nothing fancy just simple flowers that bring a smile.
Take them home, unwrap them, give them fresh water and ENJOY.
At the gate now $10 a bunch.

Is it really only 3 days until Christmas??
We have beautiful mixed bunches full of dahlias, cut this morning at The Platter Board perfect as a wee gift or to grace your own table.
* To keep your flowers in tip top condition in this hot weather, these are a few tips.
Unwrap the flowers when you get them to where they are going.
Cut a small amount off the ends of the stems and make sure there are no leaves below the water line and then pop them in a very clean vase with fresh cool water.
Keep them out of direct sunlight if possible and change their water daily.

Our flowers are not treated in any way but these simple tips will keep them looking beautiful.
We build our bouquets with flowers that have a range of vase lives, so the dahlias may fade but the lillie's and sunflowers will continue to open. We suggest removing spent flowers and continue to enjoy the remaining blooms.

Soo the kids market was a huge success and the kids took such pride in selling all that they had created. Our amazing community turned out in force to support these awesome entrepreneurs. As someone reasonably new to this life, I really saw the value that the market opportunity gave to the kids, the confidence and the knowledge that they can create something from nothing. A gift going forwards.

Today, back to a gorgeous few flowers, with dahlias, sunflowers and lillie's!!!

We will list if we have any bunches available at the gate 🌸

This weekend Pippa, William and I will be at the Karangahake School kids market. Saturday 9 until 1 in the Karangahake Hall. The kids have all been working really hard to create fantastic products that are perfect for gifts. The PTA will have lovely food available and be running amazing raffles throughout the day. We'd love to see you there! Can you guess what Pippa will be selling? (ps it's not flowers).

Sorry for our lack of posts lately, the flowers have been the victims of rain, wind, rabbit, quail, pheasants and Amber 🐴
We have limited flowers in the field at the moment so won't be able to take individual orders in the next few weeks. Our flowers will be available at The Platter Board on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and we will post here when we have enough to stock the gate stand.
Thank you for your continued support 🌸

We'll be at the Karangahake Market tomorrow - Sunday 27th November. Lots of posies, great for host gifts at christmas gatherings, some large tomato plants and some dahlia tubers. See you there.

We're sorry! Our last issue had an error in the day that the Karangahake Market is held. The market is held on the fourth Sunday of the month, except in December when it's brought forward to avoid the silly season. Sounds like a great opportunity for some last minute shopping before Christmas. See https://www.karangahakehall.co.nz/karangahake-market.html for more.
