🥂 Champagne certainly gathers the sparkle of everyone on your wedding day.
So what’s the lowdown around alcohol and a marriage ceremony? 🥂

Well – as much as getting married is a personal journey, it’s also a legal one and the two of you and your witnesses must present as “sober” by law. So your celebrant will be discreetly assessing your sobriety before the ceremony starts, especially if there’s been a few “bubbles” knocked back by the bridal party.

Rule of thumb – if you’re fit to drive (2 units) then you’re fit to get married. And celebrants out there, have this conversation with your couple during discussions and at the rehearsal so everyone’s on the same page.

🎀 Pink Ribbon Day is this month! 🎀

For those who have known me a long long looooong time know I started my working career as a Bra fitter in the wonderful world of Farmers Dunedin.
The time I spent fitting any… all… and had to go boobies… was a time I hold tightly in my heart.
Over recent years I have had the privilege of being involved in lots of ways at Pink Ribbon Breakfasts or events and I have big plans for my future involvement with Breast Cancer NZ, but all in good time!

This year I am so crazy excited to be attending a breakfast hosted by three BEAUTIFUL women, the Bo***es And Bubbles gals!
To support their fundraising I am donating a personalised makeup and glam session to be actioned off at the breakfast, eeeeeeeee ya! I look forward to pampering a glorious human, spending time making them look and feel fabulous!!!!!

To all who have been touched by this awful illness I hold you all in my heart and send all the love out there to your hurting hearts💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓.

For me this year my heart is holding a dear friend of mine, Lady Laura may you rest in such eternal peace, regardless the distance our lives went, I am beyond thankful for the beautiful seasons we had together. I will love you forever x

🍂🍁Yesterday’s Autumn wedding! The sun was shining, and the colours were beautiful!
The Mill House, in Herbert Waitaki was a fabulous spot with accommodation, gardens for the ceremony and photos, and a cozy rustic dining hall with kitchen for the reception!
We had the whole place to ourselves! A total fun day!🍁🍂
Richard and Eden Tuisaula it was such an honour to be apart of your day, you guys are friendship & love goals! I’m thrilled for you both and everything your future holds!

💍Changing your surname after getting married isn't compulsory in New Zealand, and it's a simple process.

💍Can I use it straight away?
Yes, When you get married – or enter into a civil union - in New Zealand, you don’t have to fill out any forms in order to change your surname. You can start using your spouse’s surname right away. And you can change it back at any time.

💍How do I change my passport and driver’s licence?
While you can still travel on a passport or with your driver’s licence in your original surname, if you do want to apply for new documents (or any other paperwork, bank accounts, etc.) with your new surname, you can use your marriage or civil union certificate showing your spouse or partner’s surname as evidence of your new surname.

🤩Wedding TIP!🤩

😵‍💫Struggling to get your head around all the moving parts of wedding day?
🤔Trying to figure out what time your ceremony should start?
🥴How you are going communicate to all the required people ensuring the right things are happening at the right times?

🥰Take some stress out of your big day by creating a WEDDING DAY TIME LINE/RUN SHEET!

📝Jot down ALL the parts to your day, don’t leave anything out, even allowing time to ensure you ti**le before getting into your dress CRAZY helpful! Make a note for cleaning up your getting ready space so you don’t have a lot of mess in the background for your photos!

⏰Once you have all the parts start popping them against your time time…. Be specific here having your time line run in 15 minute slots is not a bad thing!

📑You can have a master run sheet for the entire day. A more detailed one for your morning and one for your partners morning! Also list all the people who should be there and any specific details.
The idea is to have it all written down assigned to a time so you have confidence in the smooth running of your day!
ALWAYS allow more time than you think, makeup artist says they need 45mins - assign an hour etc

☑️Once you have your draft, update it, tweak it then once you are super happy with it, ensure all key people have a copy!
📸Dont forget your photographer, this gives them a good heads up of the flow of events. They will be able to anticipate all those special moments!
#️⃣Listing all the key players best contact details on this sheet is also a must!

…. And lastly don’t be afraid to delegate delegate delegate!! It’s your wedding day, the lest you have to do and worry about the more you can breath in your beautiful day! 😍😍😍

This ones for the boys! - FREE THOSE FLAPS!

Ever noticed those stitched “X”s on the vents (those flaps on the back) of suit jackets?

No? You’re not alone and don’t worry these get missed all the time!

What on earth are they even there for!?! These pesky little crosses are stitched there to ensure the garment stays flat and in shape free from wrinkles until it’s yours!

Please do remember to give them the snip! This allows the back of your jacket to sit nicely over your toshie and move freely without pulling, looking on point in your photos!

But don’t worry if on the day you have forgotten this small detail, as your celebrant and a long time ago suit fitting guru, I’ve got you and your groomsmen covered!
I’ll sort them for you! ✂️👍🏻🤩

It is time to say ‘Goodbye’ to Alert Levels 👋

We wish we were saying goodbye to COVID-19 for good. But instead we are saying ‘Hello’ 👋 to the new COVID-19 Traffic light framework 🚦(red, orange and green) . This new framework is focused on minimising the impact of Covid.

Which means the guidelines for ceremonies during COVID-19 in New Zealand 🇳🇿 are changing.

“The hard truth is that COVID-19 will spread around New Zealand, and we need to be prepared. The framework is our best tool to do this. It is intended to give as much certainty and stability as possible for people and businesses, reducing the need for widespread lockdowns.”
